The smell from outside didn't match the food inside. It was very hot inside. The food was a 3 out of ten at best sorry.and the drink weren't good either. The service was good though very friendly. Very pricey to.
Not bad, not great. Pretty middle of the road. The sauce is sweet like you would expect of Texas barbecue, but it does not have the savory pepper flavor that most prefer. Loaded potato was pretty solid. sliced sausage plate came out cold, and the server mentioned that it had been left out on the counter and that that’s how it’s normally served
Service was great. Prices were a little high for the serving sizes. Not the best but I would go back.
They were out of brisket so I got pulled pork and sausage. The pulled pork was pretty good. The sausage was decent but nothing special. The mac & cheese was some of the worst I've ever had. It tasted and looked like a box of macaroni noodles with some liquidy queso dip poured on top. The pinto beans tasted like they were out of a can. I find it hard to believe that this is the best BBQ in Ellis county.
Amazing BBQ, outstanding Service.We have a customer fly in from NC and visit our offices twice a year. His first request - "Make sure The Vault is Open."Not only is this an Ellis County favorite, folks from NC love it, too!
We hired The Vault to cater our wedding and while the food was delicious and got compliments from us and the guests, my only feedback is when setting up, I wish there was a heating element (sterno flame) under the pans to keep the food warm for the last guests in line. Other than that, they were great!
Visited The Vault with friends who recommended it. I had the combo pulled pork and chopped briscuit sandwich. It was the best I've had. The sides were equal to the main course. The brown beans were perfection. My friends had ribs, which seemed a favorite with the packed lunchtime crowd. Another friend had the loaded baked potato. It was half the size of a football (at least close). I took home a sandwich for my wife and the mac and cheese. It was also delicious. This is the friendliest staff I've found. And I've visited a lot of barbecue establishments. The Vault is well worth the detour to the courthouse square. Five Stars.
The staff was friendly. The potato salad was very good. I found the brisket to be very dry. The sausage was my favorite part. I tried the jalapeno chedar sausage. I would have given a better rating BUT half way through dining the entire place was filling with smoke, it got pretty bad to the point my eyes were watering and my head started to hurt.
The food was incredible! The portions were large and value for money was good! The brisket has so much smoke flavor! Go here, you won’t regret it!
My wife and I had our first meal there Friday evening, it was absolutely amazing... The atmosphere was great service was better, and the food was the best... We will be returning regularly.
