Everything about my first experience with Whizzbang’s hamburgers was flawless. I ordered on line, it was ready when I got there, and … oh mama! It was so good. I got the burger with American cheese and mustard fixings. The ATW. I think they grilled the bun and it didn’t dry out my mouth with its density - like some burgers. the patty was seared, the cheese all melts and distinct in the flavors. It was a perfect sized bite of nostalgia and everything I wanted it to be.
Stopped by on the strength of the reviews. Was not disappointed.Tried the regular burger and it was so flavorful and the perfect size. Everything was so fresh and made to order.Added some Tots and Whizzbanged them. That pushed them over the top. Could have been an entree all by themselves. Made me wish I'd gotten some more Whizzbang sauce for my burger.Definitely coming back.
I was undoubtedly excited to try this place, as it was mentioned to be one of the top 10 places to eat in Waco. BUT, I wanted to whizz outta' there, and bang my head against the table, for going out of my way to try this place. I don't normally bash a restaurant but this place was Trash. Don't get me wrong, the service was A+ excellent, and price was reasonable. The food on the other hand was a letdown. The patty had a funky taste of ground "beef", hotdogs, and dirty sock. (Don't ask.) I got a regular patty and a whizzpig and both tasted off. They said the whizzpig would be "a little pink" because it had bacon, but the darn thing looked like they slid it across the grill, threw it on a bun and called it good. (Mind you, I eat my steak rare.) This was raw in my book. Me nor my wife could finish them because they were so chewy and under cooked. When we ordered a second patty (just the patty) they charged me for a whole burger. The reasoning was because, "that's the only way they could make a profit." Then they told us if we would have ordered it with our first order we would have only been charged $2. Last of all the drink machine look like a science project with so much mold growing in it. The dispensing levers would stick also a sign of poor cleaning, and then i saw flakes of crud falling in my drink, i immediately stopped my wife from drinking hers and tossed it. But don't worry they have bottled drinks as a excuse for those of us who like our beverages foreign substance free. I know some fountain drink dispensers have below standard cleanliness but when it's literally falling in the drink that's where I draw the line.
It’s like how whataburger used to be before it grew too much and lost its quality. The sister location in Union Hall is equally good as the original. Only complaint is they never put enough whizzbang sauce on the sandwich so be sure to ask for some extra on the side. Also, they no longer sell the fried pies but if you order online it still shows up as a menu item. Just FYI.
Great burgers. Best in Waco. Burgers, fries, and onion rings. Old fashion hamburger with great meat. Onion rings are great with crunchy light batter. Will be back.
This is a pretty great local burger place it's been around since the 80s. I think it's been through new owners, but it's still delivers the same tasty fresh burgers that I have loved since a kid. They add an interesting flare to their restaurant and have one of the coolest names around! The only negative thing I have to say about it is they got rid of their combos and now you have to buy everything separately making it more on the pricey side. Still a great local spot
They have the absolute best turkey burgers in town. I topped it off with some tasty tater tots.
We’re visiting from Dallas which has many amazing burger places. This place is truly legit, simple but worth it! They also have fresh, made to order onion rings that are out of this world! Highly recommend!
Really really good! I’m normally not a fan of “restaurant” burgers but this one has that old school or at home feel to it! Staff was friendly and helpful since I was a first timer. I dine in but also order Togo for family. Would def recommend.
Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious burger from their truck at the Silobration on Thursday! I don’t write many reviews. But when my original burger blew away in the crazy winds that day after just one bite, they didn’t hesitate to cook me another - wonderful customer service and the tastiest burger!!
