Got to go pizza there tonight. First time. Liked everything about it. Flavor, crust etc. priced about like most places. Salad was great. Will return soon.
What a great place! The food is great and so was the environment. I've been driving through Woodway for along time and never knew this place existed. It's in a place you wouldn't expect. I highly recommend.
This place is deceiving large. There is a tiny little parking lot with a grass lawn next door. I have no idea where everyone parks if the place actually fills up. There are three seating areas. Indoors to the right is a very large seating area. On the left side of the building is the bar. Out back by the river there are two levels of covered patio seating. There's even a boat dock for people to pull up from the river. While I give the decor and atmosphere a five, the pizza and beer selection are a three. The pizza was middle of the road. I cannot say I was wowed by it. They have a fairly large beer menu, but it's mostly mainstream beers. They have a few of the most popular craft beers. I had hoped they would have more options for craft beer lovers. Thumbs up to the Blantons!
Always great food here. The pizza is reasonably priced, the atmosphere is great, and the food is really good. I love coming here when I’m in town. I especially love the new location!
Just went and checked out Slow Rise on the Brazos, and they did a phenomenal job for their first Friday in this location. The Pizza and traditional wings hot were very tastee.There is a ton of outdoor seating on the river creating a very unique ambience for Waco.Great job, and good work getting this place open
Visited the new location of Slow Rise Pizza on Martin Luther King in Waco, Texas at 5:00pm on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Order taking was extremely slow. Once it was my turn to order, I was told you could not order pizza by the slice, only whole pie. So, I ordered two appetizers, wings and macaroni bites. Once delivered, the food was horrible. Our friends ordered a whole pizza pie. After one hour, I went up to where I placed the order and again stood in the slow line only to be told pizzas where taking 90 minutes to get. While at the cashier, I bought a soda cup. When I went over to the soda fountain, the ice dispenser was out of order. I asked about ice and was told, there is a 5 gallon bucket of ice sitting on the counter, and help myself. Mine you, this was a community bucket that had two cups in the bucket so you could help yourself. One would think this does not pass sanitary standards, especially with COVID. The health department would be all over this had they witnessed it. It will be a long time, if ever, before I would think about going back.
One of my new favorite places!! Casual atmosphere, excellent service, tasty food.. love the french fries!! Easy parking. Dine in, take out, or curbside pick up to go! Quaint outdoor area for kids to play. Convenient location.
This pizza taste sooo good and I’m so happy that you can order by the slice not a lot of pizza places offer that. I ordered right on the website super easy and fast.
I love the space but have been unimpressed with the food. The “Loaded Fries” is a misnomer for the small drizzles of sour cream and queso and little scoop of bacon. The portion of fries at least was generous, we just wished there had been more toppings to enjoy them with. And while the pizza slices are large, I’ve always found them rather bland. Good selection of beer though and I’ll keep coming back for the patio because it’s a great place for kids to run around.
I've had lots of pizza in my life. Slow Rise pizza is definitely what I'd call high premium quality pizza. Way up there. Has a really fresh taste to it. I've been many times and will recommend it to anyone.
