Always have to add Schmaltz's to my itinerary when in Waco. It's difficult to describe just how uniquely delicious these sandwiches are - not sure if it's the fresh-baked bread or the plentiful fresh ingredients they put in between or some other kind of voodoo magic they sprinkle on before serving them, but do yourself a favor and make sure you try one the next time you're within 50 miles of this place...highly recommend it!

Schmaltz's is far and away the best sandwich shop in town. Their homemade bread is fantastic, and really it's what takes their sandwiches over the top. It's been years since I had eaten here last, but the quality has not wavered a bit. Since the last time I visited, they have introduced a jalapeno cheddar bread. They were out at the time, but I will be coming back more often to try and get some! I also recommend trying their wheat bread, I think it's even better than the white bread as if that was even possible!Their portions are huge, and their large sandwich always satisfies. Can't go wrong with any sandwich on the menu either!The only knock I have on my latest visit was that I asked for no tomatoes and I received tomatoes. Not a big deal, and definitely not enough to keep me from giving 5 stars.
I grew up coming here, and it's always been perfect. Everyone has always been very friendly, and I've never had a problem!

The food is super good but what turns me away from this place is the service. I went in and waited for 20 minutes while watching other people getting their order before mine. It was the simplest order to, so I don’t understand why it always takes so long. There was 6 staff working and 3 of them were standing there doing nothing…
Great sandwich. Worth the occasional line or wait. Nice atmosphere. We always get the Schmaltz.
It's nice to see that some things don't change. Schmaltz is as good today as they were 10 years ago.
Liked it but they do not offer a gluten free bun. Disappointed in that but my hubby said his regular sandwich was delicious!
