Tried this for date night with my husband. Food was delicious, but we were not impressed with the service or prices. I ordered the fried shrimp basket and it came with maybe 10 fries. I asked the waitress if there’s supposed to be only that much and that it’s a little small for what I ordered/paid for. She said “would you like more fries?” I guess I should’ve asked if she was going to charge me (as I thought it was her fixing the horrible amount). When we got the bill, she charged for a whole extra side of fries. When asking about it, she said “well that was a serving size.” I’m 4’11” and 118 pounds, so I promise I wasn’t asked for much. If I pay $14-15 for a meal, please give the right amount.Unimpressed, but if your service and portions are better than ours, then great!
The bar was fully stocked with both liquor and beer products. Plenty of seating including a large outside seating area and room for a pool table inside. Additionally there are multiple big screen TVs displaying many sports programs. Also there is a huge up-to-date juke box system with many outstanding speakers. The bar food options are good as well as was the taste of it. The staff( Arleta ) was knowledgeable, friendly and particularly attractive and attentive. I will return for a Friday and/or Saturday night experience to sample the Waco night life here. ?
If you Like decent food don’t eat here. Ordered shrimp tacos, the tortilla itself tasted horrible and so did the three shrimp inside. My macaroni and cheese was the greasiest I’ve ever seen and still had unmelted cheese. I also had a grilled ham and cheese, cheese was old and bread thick and dry. Don’t eat here don’t order from here, save your money because the food isn’t worth it
Happy to find an outdoor smoking area with fans and nice tables. Sadly it took over 20 minutes for a waitress to even come to us. 40 min later we got to order...long story short..3 "out of it" orders later...and 70 min after arrival we got our appetizer. Unfortunately it took a few more minutes to get a fork. Not hopeful on the dinner order at this point.Oysters on the half shell.. apparently decent for texas..so I'm adding one star
This is a great little place to just go hang out! Very friendly atmosphere very good service and clean on top of that. The music wasn't overbearingly loud they were pool tables to enjoy pool. And the menu has a burger on it I have never heard of called The hangover Burger! If you don't do anything else at that place go have the hangover Burger. It is stinking awesome! Nice little hometown bar and grill I'll remember it and go back.
Highly recommend for lunch and or dinner. Although it is a bar, their food is the bomb! It’s a time warp bar, I felt like I was 22 again in 1980!We called in our order ahead of time.
Used to regular this place with my wife after we got off of work. Stopped coming back after a bartender we have never seen named Lexi, called herself the manager too, turned my wife and I away because her State Issues ID wasn't a driver's license. I've been to bars all over Texas, and other states- never have I been turned away because I couldn't drive. That's not what constitutes alcohol consumption- it is your age, and ability to provide state issue ID which we both absolutely have. If you're looking for a bar and you think Oakleys is for you, do yourself a favor and go to ANY other bar in Waco. They will take care of you there, as opposed to Oakleys.
My husband and I absolutely love the food here. We had them cater our wedding and we were very pleased with the food and the responsiveness of their catering staff prior to the event. Even though there was a bit of a mix up midway through, they were very quick to fix the problem. The only reason I am giving a 4-star review is due to the servers that were to come to the wedding. As we spoke to the catering coordinator, we were under the impression that there would be servers serving from the trays to our guests in line, not our guest serving themselves. We wanted to have someone serving due to COVID precautions as well as making sure everyone there got a chance to have everything on the serving line. I wish I could give a 4.5 star, because that was the only issue I had with their catering. We love their food and plan on continuing to be their customers!!
