This has always been a favorite place for lunch but it's just not what it used to be. The Garden Chicken Salad Sandwich the last 2 times has been more "Garden " than "Chicken Salad ". Neither time did I have one of those delicious pickle slices on my plate, nor was I asked if I wanted one if they are a requested item now. Yesterday was the final straw, I did request no tomato, and tomato was on there, plus the piece of wood I bit into was not the way to encourage my return. It was NOT a toothpick, it was NOT a grape stem. Sorry, but you lost a customer over it.
This was a huge disappointment. Thank goodness my other experience in Florida was great or I'd never enter another one. My wife had the BLTA and it was far from good. The bacon was extra well done, there was a small sliver of avocado, next to no lettuce and some tomato. I had the chicken tortilla soup, which was good, but the steak & gorgonzola salad was pathetic. The lettuce had a lot of brown and/or wilty pieces and the steak was tough. Thank goodness we're only passing through
Went to mcalisters on 4551 west waco drive today and had a great experience.... Arantza Trejo the general manager of the store and her staff took excellent care of us and the food was great... i highly recommend stopping by this location for great food and great customer service with a smile....thanks again
McAlister’s Deli is typically one of my favorite restaurant chains, and I’ve been eating at various locations consistently for years now. This location, however, leaves severe distaste in my mouth. I’m not sure what is looked at before being served here, but I cannot imagine the presentation I received is up to par.
In what world would this be an acceptable amount to fill up an already tiny to-go soup container? This is the third time this has happened to me. Not gonna keep going back in every single time to demand a proper soup portion, so Newk’s it is from here on out. McAllister’s take out needs to do better.
Food was ok, that was not the reason for the 3 stars. The reason for the 3 stars was the hairs we found on our sandwiches. If we were other people we would have complained but my chica said it was best to leave it be. Rip the sandwich, went in the trash.
Had their new sirloin salad. I won't order it again. Steak was like shoe leather. Lots of lettuce in the salad though. Too expensive for me.
Ordering was a snap; as all registers, including the take-out stand, was open for ordering. Presentation was timely, too. I was ready to post a demerit because of slow attention at the counter for a drink re-fill, but the gentleman who collected our used plates and filled my cup one last time by invitation redeemed that slight. I also commend the preparer who quickly filed a small cup with honey mustard dressing so that I could cover the mayonnaise that i forgot to strike from my order. He couldn't have known that I was in eyeshot and could see his reaction to the server's request, but there was no shrugging or sighing as he promptly dispensed the condiment and responded, "honey mustard for customer." We will certainly return.------The attendance at the restaurant was moderate today, so the attention to my tea needs was prompt. Also; the manager of the restaurant was active, delivering many of the meals herself.
I'm addicted to the Italian sandwich. They have an awesome staff & delicious food!
Occasionally dine here. Deli fare, soups and delicious cookies. Sweet tea is a specialty, and they serve a double chocolate cheesecake.
