Firstly, I’d like to say that our server was excellent and attentive. She was great.Second, I don’t like writing bad reviews but the food here was awful. I feel like it used to be a lot better and perhaps the kitchen staff needs better training or to be replaced. Also, our dishes and utensils were dirty.Even for American style Asian food it was terrible. The Pad Thai that my wife ordered was unrecognizable as Pad Thai. There were no scallions or peanuts or spice and it was swimming in a watery sauce. My Mongolian Beef was basically just meat and onions in a sugary sauce. No spice at all. My fried rice was basically just rice drenched in soy sauce.I noticed some traditional Chinese dishes on the menu and they looked interesting but I’d be apprehensive to try them if they can’t even get the basic stuff right.

I enjoyed the atmosphere here. The lighting is dim and comfortable. They did seem a little short staffed but everywhere pretty much is. I ordered orange chicken. It was just okay. I prefer white meat for orange chicken and not dark meat. Theirs is made with dark meat. My husband ordered spicy tangy chicken. It was not great. Our son ordered generals and it was decent. Their pork fried dumplings was absolutely amazing! Great taste and the dipping sauce was spot on. Fried to a nice golden perfection. The egg drop soup was also delicious. The wonton sauce though was served very chilled and way too tangy. Definitely would be better warmed and a bit sweeter.

Multiple dirty tables, waited over 20 minutes for our drinks, they served some wonton chips with cold sweet and sour sauce, they took our order, waited 15 minutes, another 10, another 10, finally left after waiting nearly an hour for our food. This place is a joke. How has this place gone down hill so badly. This used to be a staple of Waco, now it's trash

First time ordering from here using Door Dash. I ordered the mini pork buns(8) pieces, big pork bun(2)pieces, the Wonton soup, and the fried donuts. Was not disappointed!! Everything was very good. Was full, will finish the Wonton soup later tonight. The fried donuts came with a lot!!. The soup has these large Wontons. Looking forward to trying that. The skin on the mini buns was thin and the pork tasty. The large buns were awesome. Meaty inside, tasty. I also got chili sauce and a soy sauce mixture. Very good!! Definitely recommend this place. Don't miss out.

worse Chinese food I ever had. The fried rice had no flavor and was overcooked. The Spare ribs were dry and old tasting. My Co worker had the Garlic Chicken, same with the rice and the chicken tasted old as well. I work hard for my money and this was a waste of it. Never again

1st time there and the food is amazing!!! I've been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant and have not found any until now except that this place is far better than just decent. Not a big fan of the chicken chow mein or the crab puffs but everything else was delicious and fresh!!!! They even have lemon chicken!!! The staff there are super helpful and very kind! We will definitely be back and I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone! This is the best Chinese food I've had here in Waco and I've tried chopsticks and others including buffets and they are no where near decent, they were below par at best! If you want great Chinese food, eat at Cathay House, you will not be disappointed at all!

We ordered general tso's and sesame chicken,it was fantastic. The chicken had a subtle, pleasant crunch and both of the sauces were fantastic. We ordered fried oysters and pork bum's, i dont usually like oysters but they were amazing and the sea food sauce took it to a whole new level. 5/5 stars, would definitely recommend.

The food there is consistently delicious, and the service isconsistently good. I go there every chance I get. Theirflavored teas are really good too. I just enjoy eating there. I will also be taking my friends and family here if I ever got the chance to go again.

My favorite Waco Chinese restaurant. The lemon chicken is delicious, my kids love the sweet and sour chicken or pork, and all the soups are sooo tasty. Lunch specials are the best! One tip—I’m always getting the chow mein and lo mein mixed up. Check the pictures on the menu when ordering these dishes, because the noodle dish goes by a different name than at many other places.

I was really disappointed and somewhat disgusted by the meals we ordered. The egg roll tasted like burnt grease; the Sweet & Sour Chicken was as dry as cardboard; the rice "fried rice" was nothing but rice and it was a clump of tastelessness. If there was anything worthwhile it was the lo mein, but that was it. Will never eat there again.
