Today, Wednesday, I went to Huvar's during my lunch hour because I had not been in a while. So, I got there and was seated right away and my drink came right away. I ordered the daily special, Chicken wrap. I occupied myself with my phone for a few minutes, or more than a few minutes and realized I had been waiting for my food for 30 minutes, then 35, finally I got up from my table at 40 plus minutes to go to the register to inquire about my food. The waitress had assured me it was just a few more minutes and that was at 30 minutes. Long story short I had to get my food to GO! and still got charged the full amount. Don't get me wrong when I wolfed it down at my desk it was delicious. So My advice, don't go on you lunch hour or have a flexible time to return, but again the food was outstanding. this probably won't get published but someone will read it. Very slow kitchen. Nice friendly servers. Food middling and not quite as described on menu. Was a place I heard good things about but after trying once its not a place I would visit again as food items we had just weren't that good.Burger very overcooked and dry and meat lacking flavor. Club sand.missing avocado and cheese wasn't as listed on menu. Rosemary parm fries. No rosemary on fries and tasteless cheese dust.

We had high expectations to enjoy a tasty lunch in a place that called "Artisan Market". We'd seen that a number of people were there when we walked by mid-morning and decided to go there for lunch. We got the last open table, but a waitress quickly appeared and took our drink order. However, it took about 15 minutes before we got our drinks - a diet coke and iced tea with sugar packets to be added, but no spoon or anything to stir the sugar in. My husband ordered a burger and fries while I ordered a the spinach chicken artichoke sandwich which was to come with chips. After more an hour we realized that there were 4 tables around us getting their food ( all who arrived significantly later than us and the table next to us.) The table next to us asked about their order and was told it would be out shortly - we also spoke to the waitress. While they offered us appetizers or soup (which we declined since we didn't need more food than we'd ordered), they did give us a reasonable credit on our bill. However, the waitress should have realized that our orders were way overdue and should have followed up sooner. In the end we spent way too much time waiting for our food and they definitely didn't prepare the orders in the order that they were made. My husband said his burger was somewhat dry, but after getting additional ketchup was fine. My sandwich was fine and I ended up with fries rather than the chips which was okay. So their kitchen needs to get better organized.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place. It is super cute and I loved my omelet but my husband’s Monte Cristo was burned (100% black, see pics) on the inside face of the bread and they did not give him his side of hash browns. Apparently they were out of them but no substitute?? When we pointed out the bread was burned and ruined the whole sandwich, they comped $6.75 of the $11 sandwich...which was already missing the $2 hash browns so they basically took $4.75 off. I don’t get this logic. I guess they figure he ate the ham & cheese from the inside so we owed them most of the money. Bad customer service imo.

Went on Friday for pizza night. We had the brisket pizza and margarita pizza. Both were ok but not outstanding. BBQ sauce on the brisket pizza was too overbearing. One pizza was hot like just out of the oven while the other was barely warm so it must have been sitting out waiting on the other. We also had the key lime guacamole and chips which was good but too salty. Pizzas are 14” and can feed 2 adults. The prices for the pizza are too high in my opinion. Been here for lunch a few times and those choices are good and recommended.

Tried the Valentine brunch today. Made a reservation the day before….2 hours later we got our COLD food! One of our plates was wrong, cheese not melted. Burger made my husband sick! Strawberries on our crepe were near rotten. Waffle was hard. Slow service.Very disappointed! We will not be going back any time soon! Ohhh and almost empty watered down soap in the upstairs bathroom… this only means the employees aren’t washing hands with soap!?

Order pizza from here once in a blue moon...food is great. Don't expect to call in an order and it ever be ready. call in at 6:15. Arrive at 6:55 not ready! Wait another 30 minutes inside for the order. Happened more than once same thing! What's the point in order ahead if they can't have it ready?

Good food and service was excellent!

After moving back to Victoria I was looking forward to eating at Huvar’s again! The staff seemed overwhelmed. I had to ask for a server to come to my table. The food took forever to come. When it did, the ‘kettle’ chips that were supposed to come with my sandwich were obviously Lay’s potato chips. The cheese in my ham and Swiss sandwich was processed American cheese. They also did not have bread pudding which was still on the menu and what I was most looking forward to eating. The waitress said the chef simply didn’t have time to make it. Super disappointed Huvar’s! Not sure what’s happened here but definitely not the restaurant I remember!

Service was outstanding, the salmon Croquettes were crispy and cooked to perfection. And don't get me started on the mac and cheese!
