I have owned a downhome, southern type diner & bakery for 40+years so I'm very picky about food & service when dining out and rarely do I eat out. But today I was in the area and decided to try Soul.Mac n cheese was good,very creamy.Greens were the bomb! Fried chicken was the best I've had in the Tyler area!Only complaint is the baked beans tasted like pork n beans with sugar, no bacon, no onion, no BBQ sauce, that's the reason they didn't get a 5 star, and they forgot to put my beans in my order, but they did apologize and get them to me quickly.Steven was the gentleman at the window, he was both helpful & friendly & answered all my questions as this was my first time to try them.If you haven't been... GO!!!
I ordered the three meet plate with brisket sausage and chicken. The two sides were mac & cheese & greens. Because this is named as a soul food restaurant I was expecting scratch made sides. However the greens were out of a can and the Mac and cheese was the shells out of the box. The two pieces of chicken had to be the smallest I've had in YEARS from anywhere. The brisket and sausage were good though.I also ordered the 8 piece fried ribs because I'd never had them before. Now THESE were a highlight! Really well seasoned and tasty.

Friendly staff right off the back. Food was absolutely delicious!! Every single thing my friend and I had ordered was made to perfection. Will for sure make the drive there just for that amazing food. I would recommend that everyone should try this place out. Just amazing!
The 2 meat plate that had ordered has a very generous amount of meat. The 2 side as well.The best part of the service is when I had asked for a towel to wipe my seating area. I was told I be be right out. I said you don’t have to do that ma’am I can do it. She politely came and and took care of it. I love customer service.
Just left this place. All I asked for was a lean chopped beef sandwich. It had so much fat I thought it was still attached to the animal. They took it upon themselves to put bbq sauce on my sandwich which left my bread wet and falling apart. Never going back
This was my first time there and the food was delicious!!! The owners were so nice also!!
