What a phenomenal experience. We were out shopping and stumbled across this treasure last night when looking for someplace new to try for dinner. In Mario’s we found not a quick bite, but an extraordinary dining experience.From the moment we stepped into the lobby with walls adorned with pictures of the precious owner with well known patrons and smelled the luscious aroma wafting out of the kitchen we knew we had stumbled into a food lovers paradise.The owner came out and made small talk until our table was ready and seated us himself. It was obvious he takes pride in his establishment and I gets to know his guests, taking personal interest in any requests we may have as displayed by he and a waiter taking the time to look up the recipe for a drink my son mentioned.To say the food was good would be a vast understatement. The surprisingly reasonably priced food was extraordinarily good. Made with only the freshest ingredients the food was a tastebuds trip to paradise. Sizable main dishes preceded by a crisp salad and fresh from the oven crusty French bread left us with happy tummies and plenty to take home.This is an experience not just a meal!Enjoy.
Such an amazing experience having dinner at Mario's!! An old school Italian vibe place with black-and-white pictures & Sinatra playing in the background. My waiter has worked there for 40 years and was wonderful. The owner greeted me and gave me a great dinner recommendation, the food was delicious & reasonably priced! I love everything about this place & will go back next time I'm in Tyler, Tx.
Well, went to get authentic Italian food, good atmosphere for dining. The food was very good, and they even had entertainment. Before ordering, had a glass of ice water spilled down my back, surprised to say the least. Thought, maybe we would be compensated for the accident, but No. Got an Italian story instead. Very interesting visit.
Great food,great service! We a fantastic experience from the time we entered til we left some two hours later. Loved the live music, excellent singer and waiter #15, a mature gentleman was superb, one of the best dining experiences in a long time. Wished we could go often but we live about 2 1/2 hrs away. We will be back at our esrliest opportunity.
My husband and I decided to try Mario’s last night for the first time. We were immediately greeted and seated by the owner and loved the decor all around the restaurant. The atmosphere was perfect for any occasion! Our server, Addison, had the best service we have experienced in Tyler. We asked her for a few suggestions and she did not disappoint! From the wine to the desserts, she was very knowledgeable and informative. We started off with calamari and fried ravioli; both were exceptional! Calamari had perfect ratio of breading to meat and was cooked to a golden crisp. Delicious!The salads were extremely fresh and the house vinaigrette they use is superb. (It allows you to taste the veggies in the salad without overpowering it.)Our entrees were delivered double plated (hot plated) so our meals stayed warm until we were ready to get them boxed.Mario’s really impressed both my husband and myself from the moment we stepped into the building. The owner came by to our table, brought us different wines to choose from, and was very interactive with his guests (especially his regulars)I highly suggest dining here on Fri/Sat night because the singer is amazing. It is not like other live music, it is subtle and not too loud. It simply added a nice touch to our date night :) we will definitely be returning!!
Very friendly and hospitable staff. We reserved a private room for my niece's graduation party, and of course the ceremony ran long. We finally arrived not long before they were to close for the night. The owner and staff assured us it was no problem, and we should celebrate with no worries. Thank you everyone for making this a special night!
Bread was warm and dipping sauce was delicious. We had a party of 5 and they seemed to like their dishes of veal and chicken but not live them. Too much lemon in the picatta, not enough Marsala flavor. Chicken parmesan was good and my manicotti was good. Service was good as she didn't rush us. Appetizers of fried cheese and fried calamari were delicious.
I can't believe I've lived in Tyler my whole life and am just now visiting Mario's! Romantic atmosphere and delicious food. We had the ravioli and pizza - the ravioli is tasty, but their pizza is out-of-this-world good! We took home a piece of italian cream cake and tirimisu (both were great). And the service was absolutely spot-on to boot. I will definitely be a regular here. Please do yourself a favor and check it out if you've never been!

went there just for Italian food and got more than that ! food is phenomenal, be careful when asking for Pizza, their sizes are bigger than commercial brands , so a Large is real a XL, in our case we were three and now have food for next day ! prices are reasonable , outstanding service and the best surprise was the singer which I guess plays Friday and Saturdays , definitively a spot to come back !!!!
