Would not waste your time going. The place seemed amazing online and we did reservations a month in advanced for our honeymoon. However, the place is ran down, overpriced, and not worth it. Our food portions were small and the food was cold. There wasn’t many of us there and we went almost the whole time without drinks. We ended up not eating our food and asked for our check and paid for food we didn’t eat or take with us. Never was offered alternatives and never spoke with a manager. Save your time and money and go anywhere else.
Server Lisa was great! This spot has beautiful decor and a gorgeous location. The food is nothing special. Flavorless! Sour cream enchiladas were cold, frozen corn for the elote, seasonal vegetables were thinly sliced and salt less. Dessert was blah. Cheesecake was awful. It tasted like the cheapest cream cheese available was used to make it. You could see the lines from being plastic wrapped in the refrigerator with the same odors seeping through. I wouldn't return for dining. Nice location to cater food to for events.
Our son's wedding was here Saturday night. It was so beautifully decorated. The lights everywhere with the lake as a backdrop couldn’t have been any better. Jeremy Stockwell and the staff did an excellent job. Thank you
Beautiful property, grounds and buildings. Entire dining experience was awful. Made reservations for mothers day a week+ out, get there and no one knows anything and 1/2 the dining room was closed & were told 1st come. So we were sat on the patio in the direct sun with a 1 year old and 3 year old. Supposedly umbrellas were damaged in previous weeks storms - don't know for sure. No menus for the day, just either bar food OR Brunch buffet. Buffet was all horrible except the toast; don't even think the eggs were real eggs. Bacon was completely soggy with grease. No condiments on tables, no ketchup, salt, pepper, NOTHING! Mimosas were warm so they were no good either. Waiter was improperly dressed and lacked in all minimal skills to do the job decent. Waited and waited for a baby chair for table, so got up & got one for ourselves (should have been done by hostess, if she had her job too). Then later, waitress brings one..... It was as though they where ill-equipped & unprepared for the days event. Very disappointing experience for our 1st time visiting - so don't see going back & spending that kind of money for such a poor experience...!
First experience eating at Lago del Pino on Mothers Day 2022, and we will not return. Made reservations on April 20, 2022, weeks in advance. Received multiple email reminders that our reservation was coming up. Called a couple days prior to to confirm the reservation and left a voicemail. Never received a call back. When we arrived on Mothers Day at our scheduled time at 10:30 AM, the hostess said they received our reservation, however they weren’t accepting reservations due to the Mothers Day holiday. They could have blocked the ability to make reservations online and at the very least called me back. Therefore, the hostess said either wait an hour for a table inside (which was not busy at all) or eat outside. Since we were meeting other family, we decided to eat outside. They put us directly in the sun, and when we asked to move to the shade, they were unwilling to move tables. When we asked for an umbrella, all of them broke in the storms a couple weeks ago. As we were finishing our food, there was large crowds of people being seated inside, and it had not been a full hour wait. Further the orange juice was warm (not chilled), food was mediocre, and the waitress was wearing athletic shorts, very unprofessional for a supposed nice restaurant.
We booked the room and bar upstairs for a group of about 80. It was the perfect size…upscale location, but casual enough to be inclusive and comfortable for everyone. We had a fajita buffet with sour cream chicken enchiladas and our food was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. We will definitely use Lago again!’
The location is beautiful! Wasn't the cleanest place. Tables were dirty. Had to asked for clean menus because there was chunks of food in them as well as someone else's receipt left in it. Our food was decent, not amazing for the price but we would go back. But more for the scenery. We will give it another try. Every place has it's moment's, and I don't believe in giving one shot. I will update after we have tried them again.
Beautiful location, reasonable prices and good food.Hostess lacked all skills for her job. Looked miserable, barely acknowledged us, failed to bring a high chair, children's menu and silverware for us.Waitress was great. Like many restaurants, woefully understaffed. She held her own considering she had a large party of 14 and our table of 4.Dolly Parton salad was a great portion and made with fresh vegetables. Salsa and chips were excellent. Street tacos were okay. Needed more flavor. Tortilla soup was delicious.
I booked this restaurant for my daughter and her friends for prom. We called to confirm reservations. Booked at least three weeks in advance. Kids called on their way to say they were running no more than 15 minutes late. They were asked if they wanted inside or outside. They asked for inside. They were seated outside in the boiling sun. Why???Food was great according to my daughter, but prom is a special night. The parents and teachers worked tirelessly to make this an excellent night. One would think a restaurant could at minimum make sure they aren’t sweating before arriving at the prom. Also, they were out of cups, napkins, silverware and Dr Pepper
If I could give 0 stars, I would. The entire place was dirty, the service was horrendous, the drinks were watered down & the food was not great. The service was so slow and staff just stood around looking annoyed when a table would need something. Our food was cold and could have been made at a fast food tex-mex place. In fact, that probably would have been a better option. They didn’t have any drafts available, several wines were out & the menu had items blacked out from an already limited selection. We had a table of 10 that was ready to order quickly and be in & out quickly so we could go to the next thing on our agenda. We were there for 3.5 hours just because of how long everything took to get - took an hour to get drinks. Not to mention we were one of like 10 tables in the place - not busy at all for a Friday night. I would never go back except to stop and take a picture. The worst “nice” restaurant I’ve ever been to.
