My husband and I stopped in yesterday, staff was super nice and attentive. Our waitress was amazing! We ordered two appetizers, the calamari was awesome and not tough and hard to chew like so many other places we’ve been, the shrimp and crawfish fondue was delicious. My husband ordered the crab legs with a side of frog legs and he said both were really really good. I had the stuffed crab and it was amazing! Bread pudding was the perfect way to end this meal and we had plenty of food leftover to take home with us. The only bad thing about this place is that it’s two hours away from where We live, but most definitely worth the drive! We will absolutely be back!
Stopped in for lunch had the lunch white fish taco with onion rings and coleslaw. The food was great well done and plenty of it. Service is great. Would love to come back.
Love the look and feel of this place. I am in town working a project over Memorial Weekend and will not be able to attend our normal annual crawfish boil. I was in the mood and decided on Happy's based on reciews. I ordered 1lb of crawfish as a tester as I usually do with any new to me restaurants along with a dozen oysters on the halfshell. The crawfish was overcooked and portions were covered in their dry seasoning. The oysters were good though the shucker could use a little more practice due to the oyster being in pieces on multiple shells. I steered away from the crawfish and decided to try the shrimp and sausage boil. They did a wonderful job on the shrimp and sausage. All in all, I had a good meal and will be returning to give them another shot. Everyone has their days.
My waitress was very friendly and explained everything about crawfish. I decided to try out the fried crawfish To my surprise there was a huge plate of crawfish more than I could eat. She also told me that the key lime pie was homemade so I decided to give it a try as well I took it to go so I haven't tried it yet but it looks delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing It looks like you're inside a big pirate ship.
The food was just delicious. I had fried alligator bites with 2 different sauces, crawfish tail po boy, red beans and rice, fried okra, hushpuppies and a hash brown. I also had fried frog legs for the 1st time, as well as an onion ring for a garnish. The frog legs were good, tasted almost like chicken. The alligator bites were really good, tasted just like chicken nuggets. I love Cajun/Creole food. The whole restaurant was decorated like a pirate ship.
First time eating at this place. Deciding to stop by before heading back home to Houston. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The place was decorated well. The food was ok. My son ordered 1lbs of crawfish and they werent seasoned very well so he began playing with the food creating a battle royal with the crawfish on his plate. I had catfish with cajun potatoes with coleslaw. It was ok. It wasnt good and it wasnt bad.
Portions were huge! Grilled shrimp great, best restaurant tarter sauce. Pass on the stuffed crab next time. Onion rings too big and too much breading. Superb wait staff!
I haven't eaten here for lunch or dinner, only breakfast. At first I didn't think much about a seafood restaurant and cooking breakfast, but it was recommended to me so I tried it. It was so good! I got the chicken fried steak because if it is offered at a restaurant, I have to get it. I also ordered the creole potatoes and I wouldn't even bother with the hash browns; not that they are not delicious, because they are, but there is no comparison between the two. Long story short, the CFS is incredible, the gravy flavorful, and the potatoes to die for. I will definitely come back to try their dinner/seafood.
December 26, 2021 at 9:15, party of 8: The restaurant where we had planned to go for breakfast turned out to be closed, and so we tried Happy’s for the first time. Although it was a busy morning, the staff accommodated us quickly. Sharon (sp.?) was exemplary, always attentive, always cheerful, never trying to hustle us out the door. Such service is rare in our experience, specially with labor shortage. The breakfast fare at Happy’s is mostly simple, so that there isn’t much to say about conventional bacon and eggs, but the eggs Benedict and the Cajun potatoes were very good.
Food has been great every time I've been. My parents came from Missouri to visit and we actually ended up taking them to Happy's multiple times. Breakfast served all day and you definitely can't go wrong ordering it at any time. If you go, i recommend trying the onion rings. I don't like onions. Don't necessarily mind them if they're cooked well enough but would never order them. Im hooked on Happy's onion rings though.
