We had the best fried oysters as an appetizer and very good service. I loved the quiet atmosphere. If you want a very nice dinner with a excellent staff try this place. We had come as a gift from my daughter but will be back and it was a great experience.
I'm so glad that my friend recommended this restaurant to me. My dad and I went here for a father-daughter date, and the atmosphere, service, and incredible food was top-notch. We both had one of the daily specials, a salmon dish, and escargot. The flavors were fresh, bright, and unique; you could tell that care was taken in the preparation and selection. This is a hidden gem in Tyler!

Others in our party had pasta dishes which were quite good. The prices were on the high end, but worth it for a nice night out.

You will not find a more romantic place to eat in East Texas with low lighting, table cloth tables, candles, great wine, and great service. Not to mention that the food is fantastic. You should also try their lunch menu, chef made plates for a great price!

We love dining in the Grotto, very romantic. New York Strip is hands down best in East Texas. Blackened halibut was excellent and Deb’s favorite; sea bass always pleases. Wait staff is super attentive to complete such a fine dining experience.
