Contemporary, comfortable and cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere and staff. The menu has something for everyone. Pleasant and unobtrusive music. Food was simple, delicious and elegant.

There’s so many things to love about this place-But let’s list a few:1. The atmosphere is SO cozy2. The staff is so sweet & friendly3. The food, coffee, treats are DIVINE!4. They support local businesses within their local business. Please do yourself a favor & stop by! You will not regret it.

If you’re going to advertise your place of business as being vegan friendly, then how about actually having your vegan items readily available? People with dietary restrictions enjoy having the option to get food from a restaurant/cafe, and 1948 supposedly caters to those that need dairy free/egg free/etc but almost every time I come to eat, they are always out of anything I try to order.

Staff is incredible... just wish they were in a different building.... Rick is ?

The vibe and staff at 1948 is amazing! I highly recommend this place for working remotely, meetings and great artisan coffee and local food!

My favorite lunch and afternoon coffee spot. Sourdough avocado toast with egg and Caprese on crossaint. Plus good whole bean coffee to take home with roasted date.

Great atmosphere and non-pretentious vibes. Staff is always friendly and goes above and beyond. I wish there were more outlets and laptop friendly tables but I also like that it caters more to gathering, and less to working people. Willing to pay the highish prices cause the quality is well worth it. I love the cozy and fresh energy it has

I came here initially because of my disappointment with every other café in town. Bitter, mistakenly decaf, the wrong drink entirely, nothing I’m in the mood for on the entire menu? No thank you.Now I go to 1948 multiple times a week because I simply cannot get enough of their fresh, tasty sandwiches and their seasonal winter drinks. The juniper latte is my go-to, and I’ve had trouble branching out from it because it’s just so good!!The atmosphere is comfy but luxe, natural, but clean. Vintage furniture is arranged to where each customer has their own little private nook of the café. There’s free WiFi, ~comfy~ outdoor seating, and the staff is lovely to chat with! They’re always up to something interesting.I highly recommend going when Chris, the menu coordinator, is behind the counter. He is truly a caffeine wizard.

The best of the best. A must stop if you are in Tyler. I am from Chicago and have stopped by here 5-6 times in the past 3 years. Super cozy, lovely vibe and aura, and the best part about 1948 is the staff. Seriously some of the nicest people ever. They are always genuine, caring, and smile all the time which makes me want to come here daily. Please try the heirloom caprice panini and the crème brûlée specialty coffee. Fantastic and fresh!!1948 truly encapsulates what a small town cafe should offer. You will not regret it. Wish Chicago had something similar!11/10

I really wanted to enjoy this place. So, I'll start with the positives: 1) The interior design, seating and overall vibe was nice. Staff were kind. Great place to hang out with friends or do some work. 2) Access to the atrium in the bank building was a huge plus as I had a work Zoom and this offered ample room and access to power supply. The bad: 1) The latte was frothy like it came out of a cheap, automatic coffee machine. 2) That was the worst avocado toast I've every encountered. How could it be so bad? The toast was thin and stale, eggs were cold, and there was a sweet sauce drizzled on top that just didn't work (was it balsamic or an asian hoisin sauce?). It was truly horrible. Was it all pre-prepared? Possibly, because I don't see access to a kitchen on the property. I recommend this item be removed from the menu or resolved. I hope this helps! Cheers.
