Great food! The service felt a little stressed, I am guessing it was just a typical Saturday night in the summer. Overall, if I was local to Tyler I'd come here for southern/home style food whenever I wanted it. Highlights: buttermilk fried chicken, chicken fried steak, and the enchiladas. Such a solid combo, can't stress enough how good it was. Go get some!
Was told to eat here by a local. They suggested the chicken fried steak which I got. Would have been better if it wasn't placed on top of the mashed potatoes. Made the bottom soggy. Gravy is always on the side to keep it crispy. Greens were really good. Old glass to serve a beer out of. Would I go back again? I guess but I would try other places first if I come back in town.
We had the opportunity to dine and attend 1836 kitchen wine dinners since their grand opening and it has never disappointed us with their delicious food, lively ambiance, friendly staff, and great service. The owners, Chef Carlos and Mundo, are an excellent dual team and are one of the smartest, generous, loving, and inspiring people I have ever known. A true gem for their community.
Yummy spot for brunch, nice patio, great appetizers and cocktails. We also got chocolate cake from here on another occasion and it was the best I’ve had. It was like my mom made it and a HUGE slice. Like, enough for four people.
Service was extremely slow. My partner got her food 63 mins after we ordered. I didn’t get my burger until she was almost done. The waiter said he was new. We got one refill while we waited. The restaurant has cobwebs all over the place. The host seemed not interested in seating. The manager was doing scheduling on the bar. She didn’t care that we didn’t get my meal. I sent it back and we just left. Plates were chipped and I am sure it is a health hazard. This place DOES NOT CARE about anything! Going through the motions.
Very chill spot to hang. Weather you are here for a meal or just the bar, the atmosphere of this place has it all. Nice outdoor patio too.
I was seated promptly, my waiter was courteous, pleasant & attentive, my table was clean.I had the Shiner Chicken with Collards which was served steaming hot and was wonderfull. The music was Stevie ray Vaughn & the overall ambiance was great.
The food is great! Amazing really, best Shrimp and grits I'veever had!. The atmosphere is comfortable, not too stuffy but still upscale. The reason only 4 stars, was the service. The waiter seemed to be trying, but new to the trade, the kitchen was out of glasses so our water was served in stryophome cups, the only beer was domestic, the "by the glass" wine list was scant, and they were out of new york strip. Hopefully the management will gain experience and improve service, because the food was fabulous, but I hesitate to go back with the service and availability problems.
pricing was pretty good. atmosphere was cool. food was average at best. server was not friendly at all. when we asked for anything it seemed like we were bothering them. probably won't be back unfortunately.
Great food, excellent service. We will be going back.
