I visited this place first time with some friends. Food is ok, could be better but over I will go back.
I’m a “first timer”! I brought my mom who is a “many timer”. This place is decorated so cute and full of locals catching up with old friends & new. Leah T. was our server - all smiles & very attentive. I ordered the soup & sammie combo. I had to have their chicken salad sandwich on croissant - so fresh & delicious!! Their world famous chicken tortilla seems to be tomato based and had a hint of enchilada flavoring. I ate every single bite! I added a spinach salad for a little extra $$ but it was so worth it. The owner (Cindy) graciously cleared our table & checked us out. I’ll definitely be back. This place is Tomball’s hidden gem & a pure delight.
Holy cow! The broccoli salad was the best I’ve ever had! Strawberry cake was delish! Amazing buttercream frosting. Tasted Italian cream from my buddy—it was delish. Chicken salad was good but plain. I like pecans and grapes in mine and this has neither. Will definitely go back when i have an opportunity.
After studying the menu, I decided to get the small Spinach salad with extra dressing and a cup of Potato Soup. The salad was good, but the soup was AMAZING! The next time I'm in Tomball, I'm planning on getting a bowl of Potato Soup The desserts looked delicious, but we decided to not indulge.
I have going to the Whistle Stop for years.. it was my mother’s favorite place to go. When she was hospitalized in Tomball her friends brought her the Yum Yum pie as a treat. So before moving overseas it seemed like a great place to meet with long time friends to share a lunch and Yum Yum pie in honor of my mother. As always the food and service was excellent.
The food was excellent. If you have salad, be sure to have the orange pecan salad dressing. The desserts are really good, especially the Italian cream cake and coconut cream pie. Service is great.

Enjoyed the tortilla soup. Using a sharper cheese in the jalapeño pimento cheese spread would have been better.
At first when you first walk in, your like "ah heck no!" But wait for a seat and trust me, the food is worth it. It's a small restaurant, I mean very small. I ordered the chesse and spinach enchiladas w/ tortilla soup and broccoli salad. The enchiladas and the soup were great. But that broccoli salad.. all it is, is Coleslaw w/broccoli bits thrown in. But I swear to you. It was like they sprinkled crack on it. I mean it was gooood!!.. the blueberry lemon cake is great too. But one day I'll come back just for that broccoli salad. Another thing is, they have weird hours. They're only open for like 5 hours when they are. So you want to go. Plan ahead and check there days and restaurant hours before you go.
