Wanted to still love it. Server was great. Restaurant was clean. Fried mozzarella tasted great but wasn't cooked all the way, it was warm and rubbery. Meatloaf wasn't cooked all the way and was mushy. Mashed potatoes were good! Mac and cheese was cooked perfectly but had no taste. My wife had pot roast and it was good.

Clean restaurant, thoughtful service, and OMG that chicken fried steak. Only negative was that there both of our sides were on the cold side. And the rolls could have been warmer.Only regret is not getting dessert, even if just to go.

My first visit to Goodson's. One of my mother in law's favorite places, so she brought us to try it out.The overall service was spot on; a warm greeting when we came through the door, and super friendly warrior staff.Food was great!!!(With the tiniest exception for the beans they called charro beans; they tasted exactly like ranch style beans. I mentioned it, and the waitress kindly brought me a replacement.)Hubz tried the Roast Beef Potato, which he said was delicious, and mother in law had her usual, Chicken Fried Chicken. It almost covered the whole plate! ??As for me, I had to try that Chicken Fried Steak, even though I really wanted the Shrimp Alfredo ???I live in the town called Crockett, and almost every cafe in the surrounding area has a chicken fried steak, and I've tried them all ? This is indeed a good chicken fried steak, won't deny that at all, but not the best in Texas, HeeHee! ? Reminded me of Elf congratulating the coffee shop for having The Best Cup of Coffee in the World!! ??????? One day, you'll have to go try the chicken fried steaks at Cattleman's Country Cafe and The Chuck Wagon Grill in Crockett. Those are Damn Good!! ??And these Yeast Rolls, OMG, so delicious! Could only eat half of one cuz they were massive and pretty dense, but nonetheless very tasty. Here are the photos of everything we tried. Plus we took home a Chocolate Meringue Pie, (yes, the whole pie!), and that my friends, was the best part!! Yummity Yum Yum!!So much like my grandmother's and totally took me back to childhood, so Thank you for that!!I'll be back to try that Shrimp Alfredo and Chicken Parmesan ???Thank you for an awesome 1st Timer Experience!

This restaurant rates right up there with Mel's Country Cafe. Service is top notch, its very clean inside and out, wait staff goes out of their way to help you. Everyone from the greeter to the people waiting on you have smile's on their faces. They made me feel like I was the only one in the restaurant. We had two dinner salad's,and an order of onion rings. Salad's better than I expected, and just the right size. Onion rings were too hot to handle and that's a good thing. Prices were quite reasonable. We found a new place to eat in Tomball. You can't go wrong with either place. I consider it a dead head draw. Will come back to try their chicken fried steak.05/02/22Highly recommend this restaurant, very clean, food hot, fried mushrooms are great, mashed potatoes are scratch made. They have a sign that says best chicken fried steak in Texas. Well I will have to reserve judgement until I try Mel's Country Cafe's chicken fried steak. So far the only restaurant to have a really good chicken fried steak is the carriage house restaurant, theirs is a golden brown and usually fork tender. Goodsons is nothing to sneeze at,it is large, and delicious. I have had chicken fried steaks that weren't cooked all the way through to those you could use as a frisbee. Goodsons is delicious. Overall another great meal06/04/22 They hit the mark this time. The chicken fried steak was right on, crispy crust, tender meat. Everything else was great.

First time trying this place and I loved it! The kickin' chicken sandwich is awesome, and I would gladly have it again. The staff is incredibly attentive and the bartender that was there on Saturday is incredibly likeable and friendly!

Loved it. Awesome and huge chicken fried steak. Great service and great Southern style home cooking. Thank you Goodson's Cafe! We'll be back.

From the greeters to food, everything was just okay. The hostess nearly ran to a table and threw my menu down then walked away. My waitress was nice but the food on the other hand was not what I remember. Everything was bland and flavorless. The meatloaf was a bit sweet and hard. The food was warm at best. Maybe I'll check it out again someday.

Just good food and friendly staff

Good place to get some unhealthy fried food. Their fried mushrooms ans onion rings were very good. The fried cheese also nice. The main reason to go is the chicken fried steak with gravy. We have not been here in years. Maybe it was todays chef but the gravy was bland but peppery. The chicken fried was huge but forgettable. So it's Goodsons cafe ans worth the stop but I would not call it Greatsons.

Food is great just like momma made it. Best country cooking place around. Everyone is so welcoming, helpful and friendly!
