I was in town for a Saturday wedding and the reception on Friday evening was held at this restaurant. I was very impressed with their food and service. Everything was hot and fresh - possibly the best Tex-Mex food I've ever had. There were a couple people that had extensive food restrictions and the staff was attentive and responsive to their needs. We could not have had a better experience. Great Staff + Great Food = Great Restaurant!!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Well done!
The staff is attentive and pleasant. But the food is below average and the prices really you high $20-30 a dish for below average food is a bad deal. I had the escalantes burritos. (A bit of beef wrap in a tortilla like an enchilada, this people have never seen a burrito before, I suggest they go to California or Arizona for input)The drinks are expensive too $18 Margaritas. This is now Manhattan folks.I suggest go to Velvet Tacos instead, you’ll be pleased.
Don’t order the pitcher of margaritas. My family and I were about to order three individual margaritas ($15 a piece). The waiter told us we were better off getting a pitcher that is already three margaritas so we trusted the suggestion and ordered the pitcher. The waiter came back and poured our drinks for us but did not leave the pitcher. Even though there was not that much left in it I still wanted the pitcher-worth of margaritas. When we received our check the pitcher cost $60. That’s $15 more if we just ordered three individual margaritas. And by the way the pitcher price is not on the menu. I’m very disappointed and will not be going back. I’m giving at least two stars because at least the food was decent.
Best Tex-Mex happy hour ever. You can get the best tasting magaritas and get full from their bar snacks for under $15 per person. I can't think of a better place that makes margaritas. While basic, it WILL hit you a little by surprise. Eat up and walk around the lake a little before you sober up again.I have really only gone here once when it wasn't happy hour and their food is a little pricey. So I definitely only coming here for happy hour after a long week of work on Fridays. Great place to be with friends and coworkers during happy hour.
Went there for a Sunday dinner. Margaritas were delicious, I ordered the pepper specialty one but found the make your own more to my liking. I'm more of a spicy salsa person so could have used a little more quick in our chips & salsa. It was still tasty and seemed to be fresh made not from a container. I have the carne asada escalante and it as delicious! Highly recommend.Dessert we of course had tres leches and the churros. On point with that one!
Can't tell you how long I've been looking for an upscale Tex-Mex restaurant. Houston area is saturated with average Tex-Mex, but has very little truly awesome Tex-Mex. This place is it. Loved the great food, fine service and terrific cocktails
Customer service was great, they were very kind and inviting. We got our food pretty fast, and it was at a great temperature.The beef fajita, beans, and cheese enchiladas were good. The flour tortilla was too dense, which was really disappointing. The salsa that’s served with the chips is not spicy at all, so I recommend asking for their spicier salsa option.*We also ordered an appetizer, I think they’re called beef empanadas- they were awesome.
Beautiful restaurant has wonderful patio seating. Great view of surrounding area. Excellent Tex Mex food with varied choices. Good selection of wines. Amazing bar area.
Beautiful atmosphere, very clean, friendly staff and really good food. Love that they have a nice patio seating as well as indoor dining with a lot of very roomy booths as well as tables. We went on a Sunday about 5p so it was not crowded. Service was fast and efficient. John, our waiter was great. Prices are a bit higher than the traditional Tex -Mex places we are used to. Fajita nachos... so darn good but $20. But would order again cause they are that good. The grilled shrimp enchiladas....perfection. Food was good and hot. That's a must for me. Definitely recommend.
Service and food was great! The place is very nice and great environment. A little pricey but food and drinks were very delicious!
