Prices were a little high for the food served. Although good, it was heavily seasoned. The portion sizes were smaller than I expected for a Texas place.

Love this place! Food is terrific! Staff is great would recommend anyone to go eat there

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside is nice! Waitress was great. I got the chicken/swiss sandwich and sweet potato fries. It tasted great. I was impressed.

Filet was perfectly cooked. Baked potato and mashed potatoes were both great, Only negative is that the grilled chicken salad was definitely lacking. Only had chicken a single tomato slice and a handful of cheese. Quite underwhelming for a $13 salad. Aside from that the service was wonderful as was the majority of the meal.

Gus's has been a favorite of mine for years. Now that it's stuck in the Kroger strip center, we tend to forget about it. But we wanted something besides fast food and we were not disappointed. Chicken fried steak was perfect! Want some good ole home cooking, this is the place to go in Texas City. Great food fair price.

Gus Is unsurpassed in quality and service. The ultimate in steak houses. Find it. You wont be disappointed.

It's our go to place, all food is great!

Steaks were cooked perfectly. Waitress was friendly and attentive.

There food is great. The service was quick and our waitress was very kind and friendly. The only thing I can say is go hungry.

It’s very clean, the staff was very friendly but the complaints end there. We dined during lunch expecting some specials but there weren’t any. The menu was small but prices were high. Which we were happy to pay if the meal was worth the cost. We ordered a Budweiser and a shiner the shiner was skunky and soar. My husband had the chicken fried steak and mash potatoes which he said wasn’t bad but it was $15 for a lunch. I ordered the grilled shrimp salad at a price of $13, at a nice place like that for $13 I expect a beautifully plated salad on a light bed of lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado and fresh shrimp. What I got was a massive plate of bagged iceberg lettuce and a considerable amount of tiny frozen shrimp that were chewy and one slice of tomato. Definitely not worth $13. So overall we won’t be back. Not at those prices for what you get
