Hit or miss, but when it's bad it's really bad. Me and my coworkers always order them because they are close, but this last time was a comically terrible experience. All of the orders were bad. Like they were lazily put together. 1 order was missing an item completely. The other included several things that were intentionally asked to be kept off and confirmed over the phone, and the last order (a breakfast burrito) albeit not freshly made was also just 80% cactus and 20% egg (missing the cheese and bacon). One of our employees felt strongly (because typically they have been better every other time) called them and asked if they could do something and they said they'd remake it. Then they caught an attitude with her when she went to pick up the replacement order, because she didn't bring the original orders (they were in the trash and the lady on the call didn't ask her to bring the food). Instead of replacing one of the orders they provided what was missing wrapped in aluminum foil, the other two were remade, but you could tell they were mad about it, so I gave mine away. Ever eat an old egg and (almost entirely) cactus burrito? You're not going to be hungry for anything after that. The Mexican restaurants get so much better in killeen. Mistakes happen. I usually don't care, but my coworker didn't deserve to get treated like that, when she was conveying our collective sentiments. I don't recommend this place. Which sucks because there are two ladies working there who are actually very nice and I have had at least one very nice meal there in the past.
If I could give zero stars I would. My family and I been eating at the very first Tres Magueyes since I was little. This has always been a place that reminds me of home, but today that has changed. I recently ordered 3 tacos and they were made incorrectly. I called and the staff were nice about it and said to come and get them remade. I came to the drive thru around 3pm. The older lady that was working the drive thru was very rude, and treated me as if I was lying. She said that next time her staff needs to leave a note. HOW IS THAT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT!? She argued with me the whole time she took my order, and then had an attitude about giving me salsa. There was no consideration whatsoever. Disrespectfully y’all lost a loyal customer!

The taquitos were amazing! Crispy with real mozzarella cheese, meat and herbs. The cheese enchiladas had real chedder and tasted delicious. They also accommodated my request for hot tea, which few places seem to have. I forgot to take a picture, but I definitely recommend Tres Magueyes!
1st off I just want to say when I do come to eat here I don't have a problem. But today as I sit here and leave this review I have to say I am disappointed at the fact that I could not eat bcuz of the chemical smells. Although the place is very well cleaned. I also want to note that when I got my plate of food I like to eat the so called salad which is on all plates. The lettuce and tomato they give next to the guac. I order the Mexican style plate "bistec ranchero" I thought my lettuce was bad cause of a weird taste but mind u the bistec has juices so it was in the salad and guac. But I just tried to ignore the taste but nope. So I called the lady over to tell her bcuz like I said I thought it was the lettuce. She began to tell me that it wasn't the lettuce because the lettuce was fresh and I told her well it's something cuz it doesn't taste right it's like a weird taste. So we talked about it she asked me if I wanted something else and I told her well no I'll just take off the lettuce and you know off of the plate and I'll eat it you know the rest of my plate well the more I was trying to dig into my meat the more I started to taste the taste that weird nasty taste so I was like it's the freaking meat the meat was what was tasting that weird taste so the juices in the salad was from the meat and that's why I was nasty so I didn't eat it.
Had the ground beef chimichanga. Excellent.
Breakfast tacos are my favorite with the salsa. The salsa means everything to me. Bacon, Egg, and cheese on flower tortillas.Starts the day off right.
Waited almost 15 mins for two breakfast tacos only for them to be lukewarm-cold ;) will never spend money here again. GREAT cashier who works the window in the mornings!!
Great simple tex-mex food and good service. Always calls my name when passing through Temple on I-35.
Very good the waitresses are always there at your table not in the kitchen
