Very good restaurant, the service was great and the food was excellent. Good atmosphere for family, romantic indoor and outdoor Johnny was very helpful in getting us the right amount of food of what we like.
The service was great! Our waitress was so kind, and it was some of the best sushi I've had in a long time! They make the drinks strong too! And the cheesecake was killer. Can't wait to come back!
I super love this restaurant. It has very classy ambiance, exquisite interior, and have a really good view. They have good selection in their menu and full wine list. All the staff are super friendly, too. I highly recommend this place.
So I heard of this restaurant this morning and decided to check it out. I'll tell you right now that I have rarely been so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant as this one. The atmosphere is fantastic. The restaurant and restrooms are very clean. This is always a good sign. Now let's get to what you are probably more interested in. The presentation of the sushi and sashimi was nothing less than a five star or Michelin rated restaurant. It was fresh, delicious, the sashimi pieces were of substantial size and the service was extraordinary. Everybody was super friendly from walking in the door to leaving. Our server was never far away and my glass was never empty. I'm so glad I found this restaurant so close to home because I will now be a regular. Also, it's quite affordable and in my opinion a fantastic value for the experience. If the management of takara and Sugar Land will read this, well done sir or ma'am.
TAKARA is our favorite place from the restaurants in Sugar land . We visitonce a week and always had nice experience.Nice atmosphere, music, kind staff, delicious and fresh food.Recommend.
I didn't find my food to be particularly tasty and while the server was very sweet, she did mess up our order a couple times. I wanted to love this place as a happy hour, but it just didn't do it for me.
The food and service was excellent! We found our new spot. We’ve experienced many other sushi restaurants with mediocre food and really poor service. We used to settle for just okay, but no longer have to since we’ve found Takara! The wait staff were very kind, attentive, and took the time to guide us through the menu. We didn’t get to take pictures of all we ordered, but everything was fresh and delicious! From the nigiri to the cooked dishes everything was on point. Can’t wait to go back! Do yourself a favor and give them a try.
Dined in fairly late on weeknight, but they were more than accommodating to our group. The service throughout was pretty good, as they were both very friendly and kept checking in on us.The different appetizers we ordered were almost all pretty good. The best of the bunch was definitely the Seven-Spice Calamari, which had a nice crunch and tasty veggies to balance it out. The New York Strip Carpaccio was also very good, but I wish there was just a bit more of the balsamic teriyaki sauce. The least appetizing was the Spicy Edamame, which was just far too salty to the point of overpowering any presence of heat. The nigiri options were probably the most disappointing of the night. Their prices in general were more than reasonable though, as the different Toros were notably cheaper than similar restaurants around. The biggest drawbacks to them though were that there wasn’t much of a preparation at all and that most of the pieces came out fairly dry.The different rolls and entrees, however, were all pretty tasty. The Chicken Fried Rice and Spicy Garlic Bokum (with beef and noodles) are both nice variations for anyone looking to mix it up. Each of the rolls we ordered turned out nicely, especially the Hottie Kimono (similar to a Shaggy Dog), the Toro Ichiban (very subtle flavor), and the La Habana (very tasty sauces). The Dragon Fire looked great, but unfortunately didn’t have anywhere near the flavor profile or heat level that we expected based on its description.
Tasty and big portion (Texas size).
