Gyu-Kaku is a neighborhood gem with a large menu to choose from. During HRW Gyu-Kaku is offering a 4 course menu that features "Green Tea Ice Cream" as one of their desserts. Simply Delicious!
All the food was excellent except the fillet mignon. We could not chew it up. The food came our way too fast. They brought all the appetizers, soup, salad, noodles and first round of meat all at once. A lot of the meat needed cutting as it was too big for 1 bite. We asked for forks and knives. We were brought plastic forks and no knives so we ate using the tongs. We were also given 1 fast food quality napkin. We wanted to order alcoholic drinks such as a gin and tonic but they only serve the drinks on the menu which are all very very sweet. We still ordered drinks and they were good but too sweet. For the $300 price tag I didnât expect these things to occur.
My son wanted to celebrate his birthday here. What a great time. The service was out of this world and the food never stopped coming. We got the "family feast". Yes, it's expensive, but was well worth every penny! No one in the family went away hungry. In fact, we had tons of food left over. I'll visit Gyu-Kaku any time I'm in Sugar Land. These guys know what super service is all about!
If you follow my review page, you'd know I absolutely love this restaurant, talk about an experience!!! Took my wife and kid here for an afternoon brunch and once again, they did not disappoint! When I first ate at a Gyu-Kaku restaurant, I was kinda skeptical like "How do I know if it's cooked well, how do I know if it's ready?". Fortunately for me, my wife is an unofficial BBQ Grilling Jedi Master ???. More seriously, they also inform you how to grill it, how long to have it in and what not. The rice you see me eating in the picture is one of the best I've ever tasted, and I'm not even particularly fond of rice- not even Jollof (that piece of info isn't shared with anyone who's Nigerian like me- they'd look at me like I'm weird). Yeah but that rice at Gyu-Kaku- is ridiculously good. Experience was memorable, food was delicious, till my next review, bye for now- and bon-appetite ❤️
amazing experience, delicious food and excellent service. Thanks for make our celebration special
Perfect customer service. Tasty garlic fried rice with $2 up charge. We ordered each of the followings from the lunch menu:Kalbi Chuck Rib - Great!Bistro Hanger Steak - strongly recommended if you like steak =)Umakara Ribeye - Great!Toro Beef - Great!Yaki-Shabu Beef - Great!Angus Beef Rib - If I am not mistaken, beef ribs, are the ones with square shape of chucks, is very difficult to cook it thoroughly and chew. Once I cooked it to well-done, the surface is burned by using the grill on low heat. It's probably need 4-5 min. I also tried to cook it to medium, it's not making it easier to chew and eat. Perhaps it's my personal preference. If you like the super chewy texture, you might like it.Overall, the beef quality is really good!!!
We enjoy Friday nights here. Always a good time.
They ran out of a lot of items we specifically looked forward to ordering - shrimp, ice cream, egg rolls, sâmores. It was nice that they allowed us to stay longer than 90 minutes, the food we did get tasted good, but service was very slow, it was hard to get our waiters attention. They forgot about what we ordered and we had to remind them, so honestly letting us stay longer than 90 was the least they could do since they didnât ran out of the most basic stuff and took a very long time to bring the food out.
First time here. It was a great experience! Food was excellent!!
Sucks. Out of advertised specials and no substitutes. Staff was friendly but had no clue how to serve. Breakers at First Colony Mall is much better. Restaurant looks old and dated.
