A regular Sunday afternoon just turned spectacular because we happened to stop by a Gelato place for dessert, and were greeted by the hospitable and intelligent owner Dietmar. I find in my circle of friends, people with Engineering backgrounds seem to enjoy learning and tweaking the perfect formula for things like Gelato, Coffee, and Photography. Dietmar is a polyglot who speaks fluently German, English, French, and Spanish. His expertise and attention to detail in crafting his Gelato and Coffee are immediately evident once you sample the pride of his work.The Pistachio is one of the toughest Gelato to master because it needs a lot of careful babysitting to have the right temperature, texture, and flavor. We were completely satisfied with the Pistachio Gelato here, and we have tasted Gelato from Florence and Rome. The Caffe Barista which is Coffee flavored has the same rich flavor and the sweetness is just perfect. The price is so reasonable too compared to some other Gelato places that don’t have the same level of quality.We have a Strawberry and Banana Crepe that’s enjoyable, made from a recipe sent from Dietmar’s daughter in France. It hits the spot when it’s made warm and fresh.After the neighboring customers keep telling us they have the best coffee anywhere, we would be remiss if we don’t try a Cappuccino as our dessert Espresso drink. The machine is a manual old-school professional equipment that takes skill to use properly. We love our Double Espresso-based coffee drink with Steamed Milk Foam, rich, smooth, and complex.Food is still the best excuse to connect with people, and today’s visit to Dietmar’s Gelato Picks is such a wonderful treat for us. During the time we were there, every customer is greeted like a friend by the owner and their faces are beaming with happiness and delight visiting this Gelato spot with old-world charm. AMAZING!!!I fell in love with Gelato Picks ever since I first visited the place. My boyfriend, who has been to Italy, and I came to Gelato Picks and found their dessert to be just as amazing as Italy's authentic gelato. The owner of Gelato Picks is so sweet and makes the best relationships with his customers. The whole place is a super cute and friendly environment. I love their gelato because it's so creamy and not overly sweet like how Americanized Gelato is like. Every friend I suggested to go to Gelato Picks has came back and told me the place is extremely good. I will continue to come back here often to enjoy their amazing quality desserts with more family and friends!
Do not enter this place unless you are in search of authentic German Spaghetti Ice Cream. If you know, you know. If you have never had it, then don’t try it otherwise you’ll have to go back again and again, it is just that good ??The owner of the shop is very friendly and makes everything from scratch. The atmosphere of the store is light and happy, definitely family friendly.

Fantastic Gelato! Aside from the owner just being the nicest guy, he really is an artist when it comes to making authentic German Gelato, they even have Spaghetti Ice!! Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy some gelato on a hot day.
My all time favorite place to go for a delicious frozen treat. The owner himself is worth the trip as he is kind and clearly loves what he does at Gelato Picks. It's definitely busier on weekends but none of the flavors disappoint unless they are out for the day! Truly a gem in Sugar Land!
Simply awesome! I walked in just to try a new ice cream place and my heart melted at the flavor of the “Owner’s pick”. My husband tried the pistachio one and that was also good. I am definitely going back to get more next time.
this is by far THE best gelato place ive ever been to! its a small cute hole in the wall and family operated. These are the nicest people who run this. Because theyre so amazingly delicious, there can be a line but the wait is ALWAYS worth it!! for the past week ive gone in 6 times... 6 times!!!! i always get a quart to go after my medium scoops to share with the family lol recently tried the Crepes and i almost died. talk about MOUTHGASMS!!! support small local businesses♡
Really fantastic gelato! My husband was super impressed by the pistachio and said it was better than what he’s had in Italy. I loved the mascarpone (pictured). We will surely be back. The owner is also really wonderful to chat with!
Amazing place and the best gelato I have had in Houston. The quality of flavors reflect how much effort goes into each batch. The owner is very kind and personable. My family and I, thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we will definitely be going back soon.
