I was craving for a quality Chinese food and especially the Mongolian Beef, that reminds of my first time at a Chinese Restaurant when I was 15. Cooking Girl did not disappoint. The food came on time and the staff was super friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Jenny and Wu were knowledgeable and ensured our food is cooked to our requests and preferences. Plus they offer 5% off for cash transactions. We are definitely coming back to try all dishes.
The 'Mr and Mrs Smith' dish is my absolute favorite among the many Sichuan style dishes I've tried over the years. If you've never had it, please do yourself a favor and try it at least once. The flavor combos keep me coming back!
The fish was soft, fragrant and spicy. Best cooked fish I’ve eaten in a long time. 10/10
This place is definitely a nice spot to enjoy a quiet dinner along with good food and great service. The Manger “Jenny” always put the customers first and assure that glasses are never empty. “ Great location”
I had read that this restaurant was was top 10 in Houston for in Houston for their dumplings.. If this is true I need to re-evaluate my taste for dumplings. The order was not taken correctly from the kitchen kitchen, the waiter wrote our order down correctly but the kitchen made ithen made it incorrectly. The best thing about the meal was the fish noodle soup. I read I really would not recommend this place to people who really like Asian food.
The food here is good, but sometimes the service is TERRIBLE. I ordered takeout on the phone, and they said it would be a 20-minute wait. When I got there, I waited for another 15 minutes. When I inquired about my order, a lady with bad attitude said “are you sure you ordered at the right location? Not the medical center location?”C’mon, we’ve all lived here long enough to know there are two locations, and on the phone the person literally said “hello this is Sugar Land Cooking girl.” She said this to other customers too, claiming that everyone somehow ordered at the wrong place and that our order did not exist.I understand that the place can be busy sometimes, but please be honest about the wait time on the phone, instead of leaving the customers hanging once they do get here and then accusing the customers of placing orders at the wrong place.
fire the staff, owner, manager
Disappointing. Food wise as well as portion wise. They serve only family size portions for example we paid $18.50 for family size duck soup when only one person was eating. Soup wasn’t good to take home
This is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Houston area even though it is in Sugarland. The restaurant itself is pretty basic but the food is the best. I am working way though their menu. So far every item has been very good. The portions are very large, always enough to take home after. The service is very nice, speedy and polite. If it was closer to me, I would be there most afternoons for lunch.
Love this place. Their menu is different and better than a typical Chinese restaurant. Great food, great service and a nice atmosphere!
