The food and atmosphere was great. We came to celebrate a birthday and if you like taking pictures this is definitely a place to stop by outside before or after you eat for pictures. We were seated very quickly even though we had a large party. Definitely recommend trying this place out.
Food and service were great, did send a drink back but they good about it.
5 of us foodies decided to visit El Tiempo. Despite the mixed reviews. Yes they are little pricy, but everything we tried was very tasty. The service was as good as the food. Our son and daughter-in-law shared the beef and chicken fajitas with garlic butter....this really kicked the 'fitas up a notch, they let us sub beans for rice. My wife got a ground beef crunchy taco....four us got one of these and they were all 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed the Las Vegas combination platter served with rice n beans....subbed the rice with beans, the plate came with 1 cheese enchilada, 1 crispy beef taco and beef fajitas....all amazing. Our book buddy got the 2 cheese enchilada plate and loved it. She also enjoyed a margarita on the rocks. We shared some chorizoqueso....very nice. Mamma Ninfa's daughter and her husband started this small chain....yum!
Vibrant restaurant with superb service, excellent staff and high quality food options. Fast paced food delivery from ordering off the menu to receiving it at the table. Our server Scotti 486 was top notch, friendly professional and took very good care of us. This place will make your experience a great one. Highly recommended.
This is definitely the BEST Mexican restaurant I've been to in a LONG time! The staff is extremely attentive! I highly recommend it.RIQUISIMO!!!!!
Went for dinner for 2 and got Fajitas. The food is good(why it’s 3 stars) but the service NOT so much. When spending about $130 for 2 people we did have left overs and when trying to pack it to-go the server was basically wanting to take it away(maybe they wanted it for themselves). I basically had to argue and rush to pack my to-go food that I paid for. I talked to the manager and all he said was sorry. I couldn’t even take stuff that I paid for and it was just frustrating. I’m not sure if they want to make this place a fast food restaurant or a nice Mexican restaurant.
The service in a restaurant will make or break the dining experience (the food can be great but if you are treated poorly, you had a bad meal). First time visiting this place and from the time we walked in the door we were treated like regulars (NORM!). Our waiter was Mr. Rosales and Mr. Garza the manager, they each visited our table four or five times to ensure we had everything we needed. After the meal Mr. Garza brought cake and coffee and Mr. Rosales took pictures for us (35th Anniversary). Now what you've been waiting for the food (5 STAR). We started with some warm chips and salsa which was extremely tasty. I had beef fajitas that tasted like Tex-Mex Fajitas, marinated to perfection. My wife (very particular) kept commenting on how good the enchiladas, she had the chili sauce. She said, “there is meat in the chili sauce”. GREAT FOOD, keep the cooks! My wife and I relocated here from San Antonio (Capital of Tex-Mex) 3 years ago and this by far the BEST Tex-Mex experience in the Houston area. We have found our Tex-Mex in Houston and we will return!
Whenever I visit a new outpost of an old favorite, I always wonder if it will live up to the original. I was skeptical since other Mexican restaurants in the location for better reviews than El Tiempo. I was very pleased that the food quality was just as high as I expected it. I went with a friend and she loved it as well. The ground beef enchiladas were the some of the best classic texmex I've had. The Chile con carne sauce was so perfect that I already want to go back right away.
Big place, nice atmosphere, great service. Chips and salsa are tasty. Chicken fajita quesadilla was really good. As a non veggie eater, the rice was full of unpleasant surprises...not that I could see them, it was pretty dark in there.
Large portions. Fajita enchiladas were good, but a bit more Chile powder flavor than I'm accustomed. Service was ok, not great, though.
