Back to the 80's!!! I've been coming here for over 40 years. I'm no longer much of a donut fan myself, but we come here for the kids now. The LOVE IT!! And we love finding and supporting old school local business that are still going. If you want to take your kids back in time to how local donut shops used to be, bring them here. Order some donuts and a chocolate milk then grab a table and "sit for spell" as they used to say.If the Bill the owner is there, as he is most mornings, he can share some great stories with you. Just look at the photos on the wall and you'll see this place is rich in history. Kind of like the "Cheers" of donut shops.The donut shop has been owned by the same family for over 50 years. It used to be a Shipley's Donut but they changed the name to Spring Donut Shop, still the same owners though.
So I've been told this place is just as good as Shipleys by quite a few of people. Well, I have them a chance this morning. I purchased a ham and cheese Kolache and two glazed donuts. The Kolache was terrible! Cheese and breaded down. I went back in the store to address the situation with an employee explaining to her what happened. She said sorry that's how they're made. Would not refer them to anyone!
Donuts were very good, not too sugary or heavy. They were light and fluffy. The owner happened to be there and gave a few Donut holes for free!
BEST DONUTS IN HOUSTON!!!If you want truly good and delicious donuts - with great DOUGH - this is the place.We went later in the day and the donuts were not hot nor fresh, but they were DELICIOUS!We tried the glazed and they were AMAZING! The chocolate was real chocolate and tasted whole.If you want fruit loops or candy on your donut, go somewhere else. If you want a premier donut with outstanding dough and cooked in fresh oil. This is the place.I can’t wait to try them in the morning when they are fresh.

I had to meet with someone in Old Town Spring & haven't been in the area for along time. So we happen to meet here. Not to disappoint. Donuts are made fresh & the owner was waiting on me at the time. 1pm alot of room for parking & eating. Many nostalgic tables. Not exactly close to where I live but, next time I'm back in the area I will visiting.
My family and I have been coming here for years. The best ? there is. They melt in your mouth.
Good pastries here . Not crowded.
