Food was just OK, honestly I've had better enchiladas from a TV dinner. I walked in and all the staff was on their phones, no greeting or anything, so I just sat down someplace. Food came out super fast, which isn't necessarily a good thing at a restaurant. The green sauce on one of the enchiladas was spoiled, I could taste fermentation. As I was eating, I caught one of the waitstaff picking his nose, glad he didn't handle my food. You have to get your own drink refills I'm assuming, nobody filled up my water. The place was really clean, so I'll give them that.
Drink came out with hair in it, I was told lunch special was not available one way, when it clearly said in the menu that it was. Dessert came out cold when it was supposed to be on flame. I'm a regular, and let the manager know, he did nothing and treated me like I was in the wrong. I hate when management does not take responsibility. That's why this rating was a 1 out of 5. The manager absolutely did not care! Do not go here!
Sat at the bar to order some food to go. I wasn’t greeted or asked if I at least wanted to something to drink. The place had three to four families eating and no one besides me at the bar. Customer service needs improvement. I had came previously to sit down and eat and the service was okay. The food was good besides the bacon rolled shrimp they were salty. Bummed because I live so close and would have loved to make it my go to place to eat.I wrote this review while waiting for service.
Raul awesome host, server, the man did it all.The food words can't describe it. Nothing compares to hands down, best Mexican food I have had.
My family and I ate at Mama Juanita’s tonight. We usually go to the other location, but we wanted to try out the one closer to our new house. We ordered the large queso and I had the Beef tacos on corn tortillas with rice and beans. Although, my meal was really good, I regretted it as soon as I saw the chimichanga that my brother-in-law and Dad ordered. Our server, Blanca, was very personable and gave my niece a balloon and a flower pen to stop her from crying. In terms of the ambience, the high ceilings bright lighting were nice, What is the could be better—although it’s clean needs a little more home feeling to it. It seems like the building was used for a multifunctional purpose and could be a chipotle or something like that. The food was much tastier than what I remembered. And our dishes were well portion and neatly plated. I am sure this will become our new local taco spot for Tex-Mex and queso. I do also want to give a big shout out again to our server Blanca for making us feel right at home and tending to our every need. Blanco was very down to earth and a memorable server.
Root Rd location in Spring is THE BEST Mexican food in ALL of Houston! The flavors are amazing! From the smokey salsa and chips to start with to the cheese on every plate, it's pure perfection. Blanca was our waitress and she was a gem. So good with our little kids and very attentive. Upbeat atmosphere, clean restaurant, amazing food. I recommend the Enchilada Bandera dinner.

My server was Blanca, and from the moment we walked in Blanca focused all her attention on wanting us to have the absolute best experience at Mama Juanita’s. She helped guide us through the menu, made excellent suggestions and made us feel like we were the only customers there!! The food was some of the best I’ve had, absolutely delicious. I own a marketing company up in New England and I can tell you right now, she is the face, the voice, and the attitude of Mama Juanita’s - I am spreading the news!!!
The food here is truly delicious. The recipes taste like they have been handed down for generations. Each sauce was more tasty than the next. Prices are good, and service was delightful. Blanca made it an unforgettable experience.
Mama Juanitas is very friendly clean great atmosphere for families or a groups or just yourself to eat at. They have the awesome Mama's platter, the stuffed avocados is stuffed with tons of meat and cheese, enchiladas and etc.... Their fajitas are awesome too. Thanks for a great place to enjoy a meal. ?
