We had a lovely first experience at King's Blu Jam. The delicious house-made blueberry jam was great on our large biscuit and our single side-order pancake! The grits were fluffy and tasty. The made-to-order omelet was huge! And filled throughout with our four selections - spinach, scallions, turkey sausage and pepper jack cheese. The eggs over medium were just slightly more easy than medium. Our server was a young man who quickly attended to every request. We want to go back to try lunch!
Hate to complain or ask for a manager so wegive a bad review for the public and the establishment to know. We'll pay the bill and tip because it's not the servers fault. This was our first time here and probably our last. First impressions says a lot.My pregnant wife was craving some shrimp and grits while my son wanted some French Toast. What better than a brunch spot close to home.We were received well and seated. Tables and menus were sticky and their A/C seemed to not be working right by our table. We ordered and the food didn't take long. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with special house Blu pork sausage patties. This sausage was as tough as beef jerky. Dry. The potatoe wedges that came with the plate were extremely dry and overcooked. Had to let hot sauce and their ice cold ketchup soak into the wedges to somewhat try to enjoy them.My kids never refuse hashbrowns. They ate their French toast but their sides of hashbrowns were way overcooked, extremely seasoned, and gritty. I hate wasting food but couldn't let my kids eat this.My wife's shrimp and grits just didn't hit the spot. Wasn't terrible but we have had better. But when her stomach started hurting on the way home it says something.Extremely disappointed. Shame because this place looks to have potential but the cook and management seem to not care for cleanliness and detail.Wouldn't recommend.
First timers and it was great! Kids and wife loved the food, plus the portions are big. I got the biscuits with sausage gravy and it was delicious. We will try for lunch next time since we did breakfast today.
Kings Blu Jam Cafe- 5-13-2022 (Friday)Today I made the short drive from home to eat breakfast at Kings Blu Jam Café located at 4711 Louetta Road in Spring, Texas. Now this place is dedicated to local food sources at the highest quality available. Their produce is sourced locally from Atkinson Farms in Spring, the fresh seafood is from Woodlands Seafood and the Blu Jam Sausage is from Fishers Meat Market. Even the coffee is locally sourced.Kings Blu Jam Cafe explains that they are a Southern-style Breakfast,Brunch and Lunch Cafe with a Cajun flare, using recipes passed down from generation to generation! Serving dishes such as Shrimp & Grits, Chicken & Waffles, & Cajun Jambalaya Pasta! We even offer an extensive Keto friendly menu...Outdoor seating is offered with a covered patio, and a BYOB invite. They have been open a while, but I had never stopped in to eat. The previously post reviews have been very positive, with a few sporadic complaints. The restaurant is very relaxing and the waiter, Mike, was very nice, and paid attention to all his tables. It was a late breakfast on Friday the 13th, 2022. The restaurant was not busy at all. They have a large menu offering breakfast selections from fruit cups, oatmeal, bran cereal with fruit toppings, avocado toast with toppings, breakfast sandwiches, Chicken N Waffles, Loaded hash browns, custom omelettes, waffles, French toast, pancakes, six different styles of Eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, traditional combo breakfast plates including Corned Beef Hash with Poached eggs and a large KETO menu.I ordered the Southern Breakfast consisting of two eggs, grits, Kings Blu Jam special sausage and a biscuit.Coffee is good and served in a large coffee cup. After finishing my first cup of coffee, I was still waiting for my food. Mike, on cue, came by and refilled my coffee. I looked around and could easily tell that only three orders were in from the lobby. Now who knows how many orders from Ubereats, Doordash, etc. were in the kitchen. It took a full seventeen minutes to get my breakfast. Now this is a sit down restaurant, but even Cracker Barrel or Broken Yolk Cafe are quicker than this. Again, what was happening in the kitchen, I have no idea.Once my food was served I buttered the LARGE biscuit, but it was not warm enough to melt the butter. The grits (a very large cup filled over the edges) were just warm enough to barely melt two pads of butter. The two fried eggs were overcooked on the edges so that the far outside was tough to cut and chewy. The Blu Jam sausage flavor was GREAT, but the sausage was tough. The biscuits were very good and could almost be a dessert on their own. Served with the Kings Blu Jam homemade strawberry jam, the biscuits were the hit of breakfast. Grits were good for the parts that had some melted butter on them. This is mixed review for me. The sausage flavor was wonderful, the biscuits were worth a return trip on their own. I going to give the kitchen a break on being slow, not knowing what orders might be backing up. This is just not my cup of tea, spending $18 before tip for a below average meal. I did tip Mike well for his great service. They also have a nice lunch menu.I will give Kings Blu Jam Cafe another visit in the next month and update my review.
The highlights, their biscuits and gravy with beef brisket, poached eggs and housemade hollandaise sauce was one of the best breakfast I've ever eaten. Seriously good and a highlight of the breakfast menu. One bite and I knew I would be coming back for more. I'd recommend the American Fries over the hash browns. Saw the corned beef and hash arrive at the table next to us and it looked amazing. Wish we had more time in Texas, this would be a regular stop. Classic Blues music friendly wait staff comfortable atmosphere. On the downside, Service was a mess. Was 6 of us. Missed items on every order and my daughter's blueberry pancake order forgotten entirely, took the server several trips to the table to get us squared away. I did go back the next day with the wife and we both got the brisket biscuits. Service was great.. no issues at all. Maybe it was just a rough day the day before.
Not going to lie, this was by far the worst breakfast spot I have ate since I moved here. The grits were so bland and rice like, biscuit was flavorless and the eggs taste like it came straight from a box.the only good thing was the breakfast potatoes to be honest. It was overall gross!! How do you mess up breakfast ?
We had reservations and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. Thanks to the hostess! Then we waited 1.5 hrs for our food. After preparing to leave, we received our food on the house. After arriving at our sons track meet, we opened the food and the pancakes were burnt and not edible and the bacon was hard as concrete. Horrible experience!
Pretty doggone good! I tried the corned beef hash with poached eggs. Very salty, but it IS corned beef! Unconventional take on the classic dish but still well done. Loved the bacon too!Very chaotic morning for them though. Internet was down, DoorDash was having issues. Still they handled it well.
First time visitor to this place. My husband wanted chicken and waffles, so I googled “chicken and waffles near me” and skipped over the chain spots to find Kings Blu Jam Cafe. I read through a lot of the reviews and the pictures looked yummy so I decided to go in prepared for anything. I am SO glad I did!So first I want to address the chicken and waffles. Soooo many of the five star reviews raved about them, even calling them the best they’ve ever had, and I totally agree. I never order chicken because it’s always just dry as a bone - not here! It was tender and juicy and the outside was nice and crispy. Definitely the best I’ve ever had.I built my own breakfast sandwich and chose bacon as my meat based on reviews saying it was very crispy. I asked Faith, our server, if she recommended it, and she did enthusiastically. Another home run. It was thick and crispy and there was plenty of it on my delicious homemade English muffin. The eggs were so perfectly scrambled, also, not rubbery and dry like so many places seem to want to make them. Our service was awesome. Faith was present and friendly but never overbearing, and she made sure we had everything we needed. Food came out exactly as we ordered it and piping hot. I also ordered a scoop of chicken salad to go because everything else was so good - it’ll be my light dinner (because I’m so full from my excellent breakfast!) and I’m excited to give it a try.Overall, I highly recommend this place and will definitely return.
Great music! Great food! Wait staff was short but they explained to us up front and the service was great! Very friendly good coffee too! Check them out!
