Friendly place. Most people orders their food for take out. We dine in and it was comfortable. Fried chicken was very good as was the cabbage, mashed potatoes and black eye peas. If closed by drop in and give them a try. Seems like their well-known for their oxtail
Hidden Gem...we sorta found this spot as we were out and about....The MeatLoaf is on point and the Red Suace is Fire!....Spot on home cooking....This is what they mean when they say grandma or momma made it...dont come in here expecting fancy or fast this is the home town vibe your looking for with excellent hit the spot soul food for a good price...minimal seating inside but great for 3 or people.
Great place for soul food. Ordered the oxtail with collard greens and candied yams. It was great! Oxtail was tender and well seasoned. Rice was cooked just right topped with the gravy. I will definitely come back.
Best catfish I have ever had. Amazingly moist and tender. Husband had the brisket and said it was the best he has ever had. Sides were also great.
Let me tell y’all something!I’ve been ordering via DoorDash from this place since 2020 of November and today was the first time going there in person with my boyfriend because I wanted him to try it & I told him how delicious the food is! Long story short, he loved and and so did I, as always! This is BEAUTIFUL SOUL COOKING
My son and I decided to try Granny Dees in Spring Texas after reading great reviews online and in a local newspaper. We were not disappointed, the food reminded me of the good ole home cooking from both of my grandmothers. And, the portion sizes are generous and delicious! Highly recommend and a definite repeat for our family.
Try for yourself because this is some good ole soul food ! Got the smothered pork chop , greens and cabbage ! I highly recommend this place if your in the area! Quick fresh made to order food you will enjoy ! Good portion size (partly ate before pic )for the price and yummy cornbread.
The collard greens were exceptional. I enjoyed the meatloaf, rice & gravy, mashed potatoes and cornbread as well. Hubs had the 3 pieces fried catfish and fries. It also comes with a side salad but my husband doesn't eat vegetables. ? He said it was good and there were more fries than he could eat. He also said, "I'd eat there again," which speaks volumes. There's a very small dining room with about 5 tables. TV had the Rockets game on. Most people ordered by phone and came in to pick up but there were never any empty tables while we were there. Drinks are canned or bottled cokes and water... I assume since most of their business is take away. We also picked up a piece of chocolate cake for later. Granny Dee, we'll definitely be back.
Soul food at its fineness. My family and I have been coming for years to eat here and we love it.If you are looking for soul food to eat, then Granny Dee's Kitchen is the place.
I got the vegetable plate. Greens, macaroni & cheese and black-eyed peas. They put all my vegetables in a Styrofoam plate instead of putting them in containers to contain the juices and then gave me a slice of white bread. What would I eat that with? If they were out of cornbread they could have told me. The black-eyed peas were not cooked well. The macaroni & cheese and the greens were good.
