Was a nice and clean place to eat at. We tried the steam buns, chicken fried rice, egg rolls and fish fillet with pineapple. All the food was great the only issue I had was that the place didn't have good service. I had to keep asking for refills when we were done we were sitting there for 15 minutes and no one came by to ask if we were done or how was everything nothing so I had to go up to the counter to ask for the check. I will eat there again but I'm going to take my food to go because it's not worth staying there if the service is not good. Other than that everything was great.
FINALLY!!!!!!! REAL Chinese cuisine has FINALLY made its way to Spring, TX!!! Hubs and I have been here at least 5 times in the last two weeks. And not a single thing we've tried has disappointed us. So far, we've had the mapo tofu, the garlic eggplant, orange chicken, sizzling beef, scallion pancakes, pork eggrolls, beef hofun, chuan's spicy jelly noodles, the Szechuan chili wontons, and the wine and glutinous rice ball dessert.EVERYTHING was BUSSIN.Excuse the half eaten food photos. It's a miracle I got pictures at all.THANK YOU GUYS FOR EXISTING!!!!!!
This place is Absolutely FIRE love the food those green beans are everything ?♥️ The flavor from everything I got was on point !!! And the customer service Amazing !!
I'm very happy to see an authentic Sichuan style restaurant up our way in Spring, but unfortunately had a poor experience our first time here. They brought us the wrong dish (toothpick lamb instead of cumin lamb) and our chongqing laziji chicken came out 20 minutes after everything else and had to ask twice about it. The food was beautiful but bland, with nonexistent Mala peppercorns in the chicken and other items. Portion sizes are half the size of similar restaurants like Mala Sichuan or Wula Buhuan.
Where have you been all my life? Spring has needed a great Chinese cuisine spot and this one has taken my heart & stomach.I got to go: spicy jelly noodles as spicy as they make them + their pork steamed dumplings. Both have amazing flavor! The jelly noodles are a cold dish but every bite is a cacophony of flavor! I'm talking chili, lemongrass and a little bit of heat. It's a fun consistency and very satisfying. The steamed dumplings have a juicy inside. I dipped them in my jelly noodles oil sauce. 10/10 recommend ?
Overall my husband and I enjoyed the meal but there were a couple things that we just okay. Some good things: the portions for meals are easily sharable between two or three people, the eggplant with garlic sauce was delicous, even my husband was impressed, the batter on the orange chicken was light and crisp. Some areas of improvement: the scallion pancake was pretty greasy, the dumplings where overcooked and falling apart and the sauce for the orange chicken tasted very artificial.
It’s nice to find a Chinese restaurant that is clean and good. The lunch portion of the Kung Pao was good and the portion size was great for the price. The steamed bun was tasty. When I want Chinese, this will be my go to place.
Great food and friendly and quick service. Served a party of 8 without trouble. The eggplant in spicy garlic sauce was a big hit.
so so good. had the pork buns and spicy lamb and they were both addicting
First time at Chuan Cafe, really enjoyed the Kung Pao chicken ( if you are into spicy food), according to the waitress, specially prepared by the chef. Chicken was tender, spicy, perfect amount of salt, went very well with the white rice. I also liked the fried dumplings and the sauteed vegetables. Pretty large menu, looking forward to return and try some of the other items on the menu. It's good to have high quality Chinese food close to home without having to drive 45 minutes to eat in the Galleria or Chinatown
