Update: I come back to this place for the second time within 36 hours for lunch. It is soooo amazing! The hot soup is the best!!glad to find this place!!! The outside gave me a little concern. But don’t judge the book by its cover!!! Inside is old but clean. The place run by a family. The lady that came to talk to me is very nice.I am impressed by the tea. It is Jasmine tea, very aroma. The crispy come for free. Then the main dish I order was Twice cooked pork. It was so yum!!! And then the orange, so fresh and cool!This place is very cheap too. I just notice that lunch will even be cheaper. I will come again soon!
My fortune cookie pretty much sums up how I felt about my food. The fried rice tasted like dirty.. my food that was supposed to be spicy was drenched..and I mean drenched in what I could only guess was sweet and sour. It was super sweet. The noodles had a sauce on them but didn't really taste like anything. The garlic chicken with mushrooms had no hint of garlic at all.The only thing we got that was good was the crab Rangoon. Definitely wouldn't recommend.
Love this place! We had the egg drop soup which was delicious. We had chicken chow mein and Szechuan chicken both delicious — service is wonderful they never let our drinks run out and both the man and lady are super friendly I think they’re the owners. This place is like authentic Chinese food it’s not pre-made. They also gave us an orange for dessert with her ticket and it just hit the spot.
Do not listen to any bad reviews!!! Our family and friends love Gourmet China and feel like it's one of the only authentic Chinese restaurants in the whole area. One of their best entree's is Lemon Chicken! They also have amazing soup (I recommend the Sizzling Rice soup)! The staff is wonderful and always so friendly!
My favorite Chinese restaurant in the world. Been visiting for over 30 years, everything is still made fresh and excellent.

I took my family here while in Sherman based off the 4.4 star reviews on Google, but left here highly disappointed and still hungry, the food was probably the worst food of its kind I've ever had. The establishment was dingy, dark, and super outdated....only positive thing I can say about this place was how nice the 2 people working were.....but for myself and family we will not return....
The place has a bit of an old quiet vibe but the owners are a very sweet older Asian couple so it's only fitting to me.The service was great, the man who served me was very patient with me and helped me come up with a good order.I told him I wanted it Togo and he still brought me a cute little tray of cracker type biscuits and this delicious jam, it's a great little snack. I made a large order bc I wanted to experience a variety of their food, and it was ready in exceptional time, all hot and fresh tasting. It stayed hot all the way home despite me running multiple errands.The shrimp chow mein was a very generous portion of yummy veggies and a decent amount of well cooked shrimp. The fried rice has a authetic home cooked taste, and the fried food was also delicious. It had a somewhat thick batter but I thought it was a good authentic tempura taste so I was glad it was well coated.Overall it's been a day and I'm already craving a couple of their dishes again. My experience was amazing and I would totally recommend.
Wonderful place. The owners/staff are the kindest people. The food is excellent and the surroundings very pleasant. It is a quieter type of atmosphere perfect for dining.
