july 2, 2022 my family and friends went to celebrate my 71st birthday. I had seen this restaurant on Texas Eats so I was excited to try it out. well I was pretty disappointed. first my daughter made reservations. we got there were seated at a table . we never knew who our waiter/waitress was for at least 30 min. a waiter eventually came to the table named camryn saying that he evidently had been given our party to serve because it seemed no one wanted to serve us. at least it seemed that way. we ordered appetizers never got plates, silverware , napkins till we were don withe appetizers. obviously we ate with our hands. Our waiter was pleasantbut overwhelmed.. we spent close to 300.00. the service sucked And it was extremlely HOT. I was looking forward to eating there but i won"t go back. the food was good I guess but the service was really lacking. the money theyspent on hiring a band should have been spent on hiring waiters and waitresses who know how to take care of their customers.

The Powerplant Texas is definitely worth the drive from anywhere .. for the food or ambience. This place was once a working hydroelectric power generation plant. It's been called converted to a very exciting and eclectic restaurant and bar.Great service .. I'd tell you if the beer was good if I wasn't there with a church group, .. Dang it!Awesome patio and cool local decor' .. if it wasn't over 100 degrees ( for real the car said 103⁰ ) we would have enjoyed the patio and beautiful picturesque scenery. .. but it was hot outside, and the air conditioning kept it very comfortable inside.Check it out for yourself, .. I can't wait to go again!

The location and building is really cool, the food and service were fast and friendly. We had a large party and they were very accommodating for a table our size. There was live music and a bar which kept folks entertained without being too loud. They seem pretty busy so it’s probably a good idea to make a reservation.

My wife and I enjoyed our time here. Food was GREAT !!! Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, portions, prices, historic background, everything was just great. It was surreal. Helped make our 10th anniversary one to remember!!!

We stopped for lunch on a road trip and sat on the deck. Beautiful view with a breeze. The burger was decent. Brisket plate was good. Friendly service; not a spot to go if you are in a hurry but wasn't a long wait. Good parking.

From the moment we walked in the door we were swatting flies. Not just us but every single table in the restaurant was swatting flies. When we mentioned it to our server she just shrugged it off and said that unfortunately we have to deal with flies. It's not OK for a restaurant to have a fly problem, it's gross. The outside front of the restaurant also had trash strewn all over and there were at least 6 people standing around inside. I ordered the chicken fried steak which was good but the macaroni and cheese was cold even though the plate was super hot. We had already gotten to-go boxes when we ordered because there was no way we were going to sit through our meal swatting flies. I wanted to like this place but I will never be back.

Great atmosphere and service. Our server was awesome. He hustled the whole time and checked up on us periodically. He made sure we were well taken cared for.The food was good. The fried mushrooms were great. The only down side to me was the Grilled Salmon had too much seasoning along with my rice. I didn’t care for that much seasoning. Other than this, I would have given this place a 5. It was a great experience overall. I will definitely come back.

We ordered the cheese burger and pork loin and frog fries (which is like pico creamy cheese hamburger meat and fries). No fry was left behind. The environment was pretty nice. You can see the dam/river from where you eat. The food was hearty and the plates where big. The best sweet potato fries I’ve ver had.

Great Location and View! Burger was good, we were traveling with our dog. The gentleman up front opened the back gate so we could go on the patio with her. Our waitress was not so great! Said she would get water for our dog, she didn’t, said she would bring plates for queso and chips, she didn’t! Overall the food was Ok, view was great, service was sub par

I didn’t give it a 5 star because of the service. We were there about 4:30 pm. It was pretty busy but not overwhelming. Our waitress never even came back to see if we needed refills to drink. There was another girl outside who was running her butt off! The pecan-crusted chicken was very good as was the meatloaf. Ambience was cool!
