Most delicious food I've had in a long time! Home made hamburger buns, cornbread and HUGE fantastic cakes! Very friendly!! Chicken fried steak and burgers were great!! German Chocolate cake!! Very clean and cozy!! Thank you!!
Came here for lunch and was not disappointed! The service was great and the burger was awesome! I got the pickle spear appetizer and the mushroom Swiss burger and I loved my meal. They also got us in and out on our lunch break by having more than one server watching the table. We will be coming back!
Love the fact that everyone works together like a true team. Other restaurants are each waitress for their own table. Not here everyone worked together. And the food was great I had the Poblano chicken and my husband had a burger and son had chicken tenders. Definitely a good place to eat at
Had the catfish plate and it was excellent. I've had catfish at other places, but never as good as the one here. I will definitely come back again.
Extensive menu has something for everyone, all of it delicious. Chili cheese enchiladas were especially good.
Great food, staff is friendly, you will have to wait at Lunch time.
This place was recommended by a in town local. Tried it out - order the Seguin Club and the fried cat fish off menu dish.Service was great, Seguin Club was good and the cat fish was decent but under seasoned.The reason why I gave them a 2 star is because I order the strawberry spinach salad to-go. Very disappointed. Spinach, greens and 1 half cut strawberry and 2 blueberries. Nothing else. No blue cheese and hardly to no fruit on was was described. Pictures attached. Refund for the dish was requested.
Stopped here thinking it was a Mexican restaurant(According to Maps). Upon walking in, was greeted by more than of the staff. This is a place to make the effort to get to. It is tucked behind HEB, but worth it!!! The special THAT day was Fish, 3 shrimp, fries & coleslaw. I had to wait a couple minutes due to how hot(temp-wise). Service staff would frequently come by and asked if I needed anything else. Tea glass was always kept full and it was fresh tasting! I know I'll be going back cause they had some cakes that looked simply deliciously. I can tell there are a LOT of locals and to me that's a very good sign. Lots of laughing and smiles by the staff... made the visit even more relaxing and pleasant. I'll be taking the family when I(we're) passing through.
Tried their salmon on rice pilaf with green beans for a healthy option. It was delicious!!
We found the 1838 Grill to be a gem hiding slightly off the beaten bath. The restaurant has been here for about 5 years but we had not ventured in here since it used to be one of the local Garcia's Mexican restaurants.Well, weren't we surprised, their beef tips over rice was excellent and their pablano chicken was simply outstanding.We are definitely going back at our first opportunity.Their only draw back was, they did not have any wine the evening we were there. That would have made our dinner even better and gotten them 5 stars for sure but if I could have given them 4.5 I sure would have.
