We love this whole strip mall of food. Good happy hour prices, fantastic food and helpful servers. They, like everyone else right now, seem to be a bit short staffed but they are great at communicating wait times and the food hasn’t suffered at all.
First time here, drove all the way hete from pfluggerville after giving up on Sushi in Texas! This place lived up the name Umami ! The sushi was fun and fresh - the enviroment was very much a hole in the wall ! If you like having lowkey lunches or dinners either all the fantasy tone this place is perfection.We went when they opened for dinner like 1 minute after they opened the doorsand it was not a lot of people. Towards the end of the night it did flood with college kids and older women there for drinks.sknwe ledt after that.But the menu is extensive and has great sushi combinations !
Ordering from here is a hit or miss with the quantity. Sometimes you get the usual and sometimes they make their portions very skimpy especially on the poke bowl and I've ordered it plenty of times here. Also if you get it delivered and mark sauce on the side they will not give it to you even though it's an option. Happens to me every time. The quality of food is good though.
My friend and I meet here once a month for lunch and it’s amazing every single time. Highly recommend
Amazing service and staff top quality fresh sushi definitely one of my favorite spots and the prices are amazing its very cozy and the have an amazing mochi donuts shop next door some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life!!!!
Nice little sushi place with a good menu. They offer happy hour sushi and appetizer specials, in addition to drink specials. The nigiri sushi was very good, as were the fried gyoza.
Umami never disappoints. We've always had amazing service and delicious sushi and appetizers. Highly recommend the Spicy Flaky roll!
Good food but if you door dash from there expect it to take 1 year. Literally not joking.
Gone down hill tremendously. When we walked in nobody greeted. Then we were shown to a table where again not one member of staff said a single word to us. After ordering, we waited 50 minutes for 2 sets of sushi. Then the sushi didn’t even come out with my girlfriend’s plate. So I sat there politely waiting so I wouldn’t start without her. ToGo orders were awful as well. People were waiting 30-40 minutes for Togo orders They started rejecting more orders from To-Go and tables 45 min before closing because they were “backed up”. I’ve never seen a worse run sushi kitchen. We haven’t been here in almost 2 years and I can say it’ll probably be another 2 years before we come back. So many more sushi options in San Marcos. A real shame.
Ordered delivery through Umami website. Never recieved it. Attempting contact for 3 weeks now. Manager is conveniently gone every time I call to try to resolve this.
