Wife and I haven't had a date night in a while so we went in for a nice steak. We both got the prime rib and it was perfect. We ordered a couple appetizers and our lovely server suggested we get the sampler and be able to try a third. Excellent idea! We were so full afterwards we wanted to take a nap in the car before we drove home.....it was tempting. We were both satisfied with excellent service, timing, and quality of food. Thank you staff and we will see you again soon.
This place usually gets crazy busy for dinnertime. I have found the trick it to check in online. When you pull into the parking lot, you text them you are here. You can usually get a table without having a wait.We were immediately seated and were brought some homemade rolls. I had to laugh as the rolls had shrank. They used to be twice the size. Our server Katie was very attentive. We usually order the larger Prime Rib and share it, but opted for an appetizer. The food came out quickly. The prime rib was cooked perfectly.I did have to laugh at some other patrons who were upset that they had some movie with The Rock in it. Who really watches those screens during dinnertime anyway? You are supposed to be communicating with your friends and family.I appreciated the super fast service and attention to detail here. Once you learn you can check in online, it makes it easy to stop for dinner. The payment kiosks on the table made it easy to pay our bill and leave without having to wait for the waitress to come by.
I travel a good bit for work and Roadhouse is one of my favorites. You get used to the slower service and 'wait' for a table. That's fine, their food is good and worth the wait. This evening, 06/02/2022 at 5:30pm, I had a chance to have a second dinner of the week at the Roadhouse in San Marcos. The first visit a couple of nights ago wasn't terrible but I've had better at other Roadhouse locations. Tonight, I went and this time I sat at the bar because I didn't want to tie up a table just for me. While sitting, the bartender, Mattie or Maddie, seemed sort of busy but the bar was only about 1/2 occupied. She took the order of the gentlemen sitting directly beside me. Keyed it in. Attended to another customer to get their bill. Went and got the guy beside me his rolls. Next moved on to cleaning and totally ignored me. I attempted to get her attention, she just kept on doing other stuff. The bar-back, I think it was Eden or something seemed totally focused on, yeah, I don't know what, but it sure wasn't focused on me.Long story short, I know, too late, but still, 15 minutes in, never even acknowledged, I got up and left.I know good help in this market is hard to find but based on my visit, Roadhouse would do better to just close this location until they can hire at the least, partially competent staff. Makes me sad. I'll visit other Roadhouse locations but this one, well, there are other restaurants, probably best if you go to those.

Good good great atmosphere sit at bar
It started bad from the beginning. They told us to stand dock #1. Other people came in and were sitted before us. Then my sil is disabled walks with a cane and they were walking us to the back of the restaurant and we asked if we could sit to the front. Had to ask several times for our rolls. Everyone else received them as they walked in. Food was ok. service was bad!
The service was excellent our server went way beyond than we expected Food was delicious and really enjoyed my dinner Thanx to the whole staff that passed our table and still asked us if we were fine Now thats service
We had a great waitress. Very friendly & very courteous. Just didn't like we had to wait . But it was worth it ❗
