Despite the jello on the floor, under our table, we usually love the place. Good food, we are regulars.
Make sure to check how much you are charged after you sign the receipt. My total that I signed for was 15.50. My phone notified me that I was charged 18.60 by them which would be the price to include a 20% tip for 15.50. I asked the guy at the front desk if they automatically add gratuity so that I know before leaving a tip and he ended up calling someone else over. Both acted like they had no clue how it could have happened.
Taste of china has been my routine place to eat if I wanna go out for lunch on my own for the past few months. I get as full as I need, a new coke appears as soon as I’m back, and there’s plenty to choose from. So I’m happy! I don’t look around and just focus on my experience so couldn’t tell you if the “place is falling apart”. The main thing for me is the staff is very kind, and for what you pay, the food is more than one could ask for. Love coming here (:
Food was fresh and excellent!! I loved how thick the sauces were on the chicken-not watery how it is at many Chinese buffets. Nice variety and the nicest people working there!! Our waiter went out of his way to keep our table spotless, drinks filled and even hand delivered lolli pops to our children. Spring rolls were amazing and enjoyed the little cakes too- way better than your typical Chinese buffet desserts. Lo mein was on point… will definitely be back!!
Half of the food was hot or somewhat fresh tasting but the other half looked or tasted cold and soggy or stale. The staff was friendly but you had to pay up front, which is a huge red flag. The bbq chicken was good.
Read the other reviews. Do not try this place.Little selection. Only two small hot tables.Most of the food smelled burned. The rice was spoiled. I had my family verify. Disgusting.The dining room just feels dirty.Will definitely not return or ever recommend.
Clean place, friendly staff but the name throws you off. It's supposed to be a super buffet, nothing super about this place. Very little food selections, didn't even have the normal orange chicken, and other standards. Only allowed half of the seats to be occupied, food was cold and was not rotated properly. price was average for most Chinese buffets but not worth the price here.
Went there this afternoon. Service was great. But food not good I'm sorry not much taste needs some work went there last year same thing won't go back few years ago it was good thanks
I'm sorry have to say terrible food waste of 88 dollars for family to go eat yesterday went there last year also bad then will not ever go back get it together people I will only give review if it is the truth
I've been coming to this place since I moved to san marcos 8 years ago, and honestly, it's gone downhill in the past few years, and covid hasn't helped that. The food tastes pretty bland and mostly like oil. The waiter was pretty nice and its good to see a familar face.
