Great food and drink after a day of swimming. Indoor seating with air conditioning or you can sit outdoors. The food was good. Catfish Po'Boy was perfect.
My wife and I went on july 4th for lunch. I had the pub burger with bacon. Patty was cooked perfectly. My wife had the chicken fried steak which was also cooked to perfection. Our server was fast, friendly and attentive. We sat at a window overlooking the river. Very nice view. We will definitely be returning. ??
We visited on the hottest day of summer so we sat inside and watched all the people in their tubes floating the river. We ate fried catfish and hushpuppies. The food was good and it is a fun location

Bright side: great service with beautiful view of river with so so food. We had chicken fried steak and the brisket nachos. My husband liked the chicken fried steak which appeared to be lacking much gravy. I had the nachos which were way more tortilla chips with little brisket and cheese dumped on top. We both had the house frozen margarita which was probably the worst in the world- the bartender needs help. For dessert, my husband had the bread pudding and I had the chocolate lava cake. He liked the bread pudding but it looked dry. They put a drop of whip cream on top but it needed Ice cream and sauce on top. My lava cake was more chocolate cake but they forgot the lava. The baker needs help. I guess for two people for $65 I expected more. ( without tip) Maybe people come for the scenery which tries to make up for the food. Will I come back? I am not sure. Maybe I will come back for the river and jump in but not for the food and the restaurant.
What a nice place alongside the river to dine and people watch. We added a little sat to our food but everything was delicious and affordable! The service was hitting and missing but we enjoyed the view and food in the mean time!Fried pickles and mushrooms to start.BBQ mac and cheese for the main dish! The pulled pork on top was delicious!
Y boyfriend and I ate there earlier after we went tubing down the river. I think it was actually my first time to ever eat there. And I'm from San Marcos. The food was really great and the drinks is an added bonus. If you want to enjoy good food go by and eat at Ivar's if you hadn't yet. You won't be disappointed.

So my experience starts with the hostess Sam who was so welcoming and friendly to me. She gave me options on where to sit which was refreshing that she cared to ask. Nicole my server was great and made sure my drink was always full. She was for sure busy but never made me feel like an inconvenience.The food was so good and full of flavor! It was so good I forgot to take a picture. Juan, one of the kitchen managers, came out to take a custom order for me since I have quite a few dietary restrictions. He made me an excellent veggie burger. Best green beans you will have anywhere! The bartenders were friendly (as usual.)The on duty manager I think was Lindsey and she made sure everyone was taken care of.Great drink specials, today was $3 deep eddy vodka they have all the flavors!!A place for anyone and everyone :) Thank you to the staff who make me feel at home here. If you need accommodations just ask they will do what they can.
