This place used to be amazing. The last couple of times I've visited, the service and food has been subpar.I've been trying to introduce my kid to Manske Rolls for years and they're always out or closed. They've severely restricted their hours and the last time I tried to visit during posted hours they were closed. I'm giving up on this San Marcos landmark.

I was super impressed by this place! Kind of unassuming on the outside, but if you've got a sweet tooth, you have to try this place. I went on Friday with a couple of friends and got the dine in 2 for 1 Manske roll special and was pleasantly suprised. These things are AMAZING! They're like cinnamon rolls but with Texas Roadhouse cinnamon butter instead of icing. Hot and fresh and perfect for the cold weather months. Plus, you can get em with a bunch of yummy toppings!Definetly reccomend if you're in the area!

Best burger in San Marcos. Great prices and the food is cooked to perfection with great flavor. And the manske rolls are amazing.

Good chicken sandwiches but BETTER burgers! The special weekday prices are freaking awesome!!

A friend of mine and I were on our way to San Antonio for a little girls weekend and she mentioned that we had to stop at (what she knew to be named) Gil's Hamburgers for a Manske roll. I was so glad we stopped. She had worked there in the 70's while going to college. Sharing a Manske roll while listening to here stories was a highlight of our trip. Will for sure go back to have another with my family. I felt like the Manske roll tasted a lot like "monkey bread" that my grandma used to make me for my birthday. ?

Manske rolls that's all I've got to say. I need to start ordering them to be shipped.

Great burgers and of course, the Manske Rolls are to die for. They did a good job on the remodel!

My som and I ent to Gil's shortly before the pandemic. The trip was a waste as far as Gil's went. I had bragged about the Manske rolls that I enjoyed in 1969 - 197 while a student at SWTSU. They're not worth the trouble now. The roll was barely warm on the outside but cold inside. I got the impression they're no longer made on site as there was one young woman being the only employee there and she didn't seem too concerned to hear my review. Manske's used to be "to die for" but not anymore. Sad end to what was a spectacular snack.

Wow... what memories from when I went to school here. Manske rolls are fantastic, particularly with ice cream and the hamburgers were great. Highly recommended this place.

Great burger just like I would make at home but easier. Very good
