An American Japanese fusion restaurant at the heart of San Marcos. Loved visiting this restaurant today. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and will help you with the menu if needed.The menu is affordable and you will find a meal for under $10 here. The don and teryaki are my favorite from the menu. They also serve free water with every meal. The seating arrangement is limited but it's themed in a Japanese restaurant environment with great artworks all around the restaurant. I highly recommend people to visit here to meet your Japanese cuisine cravings!
The staff are very polite and attentive, great atmosphere inside. Orders are issued quickly. I was waiting for the "Takoyaki" and "Teriyaki Chicken" for around 6-7 minutes. The smell of the dishes is impressive, with such a strong aroma and rich taste.Another time, I tried “Salmon Poke”, salmon was fresh and tasty. This place is definitely fantastic!
I cannot say enough good things about Don's Japanese kitchen! I have been going there for a while and the customer service is superb and the food is amazing! They never skimp on quality and the food is super affordable, especially for the unique and creative menu items that they offer. Just tried one of their new items, the Torched Salmon, and it was beyond delicious! I have never been disappointed, and the food is always stupid good!!!!!!
I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! We were visiting for the weekend and I am so glad that we had dinner here our last night. The service was impeccable! We were greeted the minute we walked in and helped with choices as it was our first time in. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful the entire time. The food was delicious! We had the don chicken and the special- soft shell crab, and both were awesome. Will be on our list for all future visits and wish there was one closer to home!
Very pleased with my experience and my order. I got the pork, chicken and waffle fries plus 2 egg rolls. I'm a very judgemental person and love to cook so it's difficult for me to go out.I feel so highly about this restaurant I'd be willing to drive the 30+ min from Austin just for a meal. The quantitie, quality, customer service, atmosphere, and more. Are all very very well done and I couldn't be happier.Not a 10 but a damn solid score and I'd recommend it to anyone craving American Asian food. :)

So I've heard the name Dons, I didn't give it much thought. I figured eh another food spot. Today I decided to step out on faith and try it.My son ordered the teriyaki chicken plus Don fries. I ordered the Ghost Crab for my husband and it was divine!! Soft crab was perfectly seasoned it's a must have for sure .
This hidden gem is so eclectic. I really enjoyed their style and service. Awesome experience and flavors! Their sauces are totally different than any I’ve tried, and the environment is warm and inviting.
I just typed a very lengthy, detailed review but I decided to delete it all and replace it with this. I could just taste in the food that they not only care for the service they provide but enjoy doing it! They seem genuinely concerned not because they fear a negative consequence but because they love what they do. This is my new favorite and from now on ill be happily spending what little money i have on this fine establishment.
I didn’t even get a chance to take pictures of our food because it was so good!!! Fast service, awesome food, really nice employees. Will go back!!
