Great service. Tasty food. We had the Buffalo Shrimp and Potato Skins. Cold beer. Live music. Definitely a place to stop and chill.

My friend and I needed to grab a quick bite before going to the Majestic Theatre. It was Friday night around dinner time and the restaurants in the Riverwalk were packed. We stopped in at Waxy's because they had outdoor seating available still. I'm so glad we did!I believe people passing by might think this place is only a bar but it does have great food and a pretty good size menu full of classic Irish dishes like Shepard's Pie and Irish Potato Soup.We felt like we had the advantage getting to eat good hearty food outside with no wait! The bathrooms were clean and well kept.I'd love to go back the next time I'm in San Antonio. Thank you Waxy's!

Fish and chips were delicious! Three huge pieces of cod, delicious fries. Very good service, friendly, hard working staff. The bread pudding to go really topped off the experience.

Bar lady over worked and walked off half way through a question or answer to talk to another customer which was annoying . Food ordered chicken curry with rice . Arrived cold and in a small bowl so asked for them to microwave it and remember the rice . Came back super hot from microwave and told rice was mixed in ? Very displeased with this as small portion and never have I had curry and rice in small bowl apparently mixed in - the being cold but was also not good . Short version if you have patience and a small appetite order here otherwise Manama have better places around I’m sure . I won’t be back

love this place great drinks and friendly people and there food ID good

The fish and chips are crispy with flaky cod. The chips were good and there’s peas! Very friendly service and dog friendly patio with water brought for our pup. Definitely reminds us England’s fish and chips.

We will definitely be back to Waxy's. A friend was in town to film American Ninja Warrior and wanted to see the Riverwalk. We were the day after the St. Patrick's day river parade so we were still "in the spirit" and as a bonus the river was still green? The food was excellent and so was service though they did seem stretched thin and a wee bit tired. We wanted for nothing. I'm sorry to only have gotten a picture of one entree but the guys dug into their plates IMMEDIATELY, haha. They did say the bangers and mash were spot on though.

We had a very good experience here. We went the day after the St. Patrick's Day river parade and you could tell the staff were exhausted by looking at them but not by service and quality. Everything was delicious and we didn't want for a thing.Definitely recommend.

Close to our hotel and dog friendly. Nice service and brought water for our dog. The Irish sausage sandwich was delish according to my husband. The crispy fish sandwich was delish according to me! The fresh tomatoes on the plate were sweet, the pickles side for my crispy fish sandwich were really tasty. Service was friendly and attentive.might have to eat here again.

Great bar and staff! Good food!
