We have been going to Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine for years and have loved the food and the service. That was the past. After our meal today, I can no longer hold back. And the worn out Covid excuse shouldn't have anything to do with it. We had a reservation and were seated today by 10:30am. Got chips and salsa pretty quickly....the only positive note. We waited and waited for someone to come to our table, and we waited and waited some more. Other tables around us that were seated after us were getting waited on. Finally we went to the hostess table and asked if someone could come serve us. Finally a waitress came and took our drink order and we ordered our appetizer as well as our entrees since we had already wasted so much time waiting. Our Queso Fundido came, but no plates. So the queso cooled until someone could bring us plates. The server said he'd bring us chips, but they never came. IMO, the Queso Fundido was a waste of money. A blob of cheese with tiny bits of poblano and a lot of grease. Didn't see actual pieces of chorizo or tomatoes, in addition, it cooled off before we could really try to enjoy it. One of my party ordered chilaquiles, which he enjoyed. The other person in our party ordered the steak and chilaquiles, which he also enjoyed. I ordered flautas, which I have ordered and eaten all over San Antonio. My mistake to not have paid attention that the "crispy" flautas are covered with lettuce and a mixture of crema and quacamole. I enjoy keeping the flautas separate from any topping until I am ready to combine it because the crispy shell gets soggy and the chilled mixture cools down the flautas, which are then cold. Had to ask for tortillas to go with the plates since our waitress didn't ask if we wanted any. Once again, the service was abysmal. We received one small glass of tea, but no server in sight to refill. Had to go to the hostess desk again to ask for refills. There were plenty of waitstaff hanging around so not sure what the excuse was for having to wait so long for attention at our table. I saw many other tables with empty glasses that were not being refilled. I am very disappointed in the service - so much so that I will never again go back. This was also an issue on our previous visit although not as bad. I will take my business to another well-known Mexican restaurant that has excellent service and excellent food. No more tries for Paloma Blanca for me.

Had a late lunch with family after a weekday burial service at the Fort Sam. After only a few minutes, our group of eleven was seated, and the waiters promptly came to take drink orders and serve chips and salsa. Our drinks were promptly served and we ordered two table side guacamoles. Once the guacamole arrived, our lunch orders were taken and we were told they would bring both corn and flour tortillas for the table. We enjoyed visiting and catching up while we waited for our meals to be prepared. A while later, plates started arriving. With the exception of two, everyone was served. There was no waiter in sight for quite a while so we couldn’t inquire about the two remaining plates. Most of the group started eating so that their food wouldn’t get cold. It took a good while, but a waiter finally appeared to deliver the last two plates and asked if we wanted tortillas. While most of the table was halfway done with their meals, we accepted the offer and asked for flour and corn. Despite the gap between meals being delivered, the overall experience was positive. The food was delicious and we were grateful for a comfortable place to connect on such a somber occasion. I enjoyed the Pozole soup and green enchilada lunch. The Pozole was so good, I’ll go for a large bowl next time!

I'm new to San Antonio and have been told that Paloma is a quality establishment (newly resettled from Dubai and UK/EU). in the year that I have resided in Alamo Heights, I've visited Paloma three times. honestly the food and service are quite average, nothing as they say "to write home about". everything from the mole, to beans, to rice, to tacos - everything - is only ordinary. again - there is nothing wrong with this. the meal was satisfactory. would I visit again....yes of course. I like the location and design/ambiance.

Good food and atmosphere. Service was average if a little slow and the waiter seemed to be trying to push the margaritas. We had the "enchiladas sanmiguel and enchiladas verdes" both were very good but not outstanding.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. The table side guacamole was very good as well as our dishes. The mango margarita was really good and strong. We went for brunch because the nights we wanted to go were full with no availability to reserve a table. Graduation was going on and they had booked tables with 2 hour wait times.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and have taken all my house guests to this watering hole. I don't know why but the last three times I have been there the service has been terrible. From the front desk to the servers all you will do is wait. The servers have too many tables so everyone suffers. I suspect it is because they can't get enough help and wish they would only let in the amount of people they could serve. I am taking this one off the "must visit" list for the time being. If you go expect a 2 hour wait and poor service. Oh yeah and the Margaritas are no longer the best in SA

The margaritas seemed to be "watered" down--not the normal strength. The chips were thick and not good to eat. The food came out cold and totally covered with sauce--not good--sent it back and still cold!! Will not go back!!

The food and margaritas were very good. It is rather over priced, but the atmosphere is nice and we will probably go back. Maybe they have a happy hour.

Our family of 6 (2 adults, 2 teens, 2 kids) had a late lunch here. Decent place, fairly authentic (as opposed to chains) but overpriced for what it was. A little more upscale for a kid that just wants a basic taco or enchilada. Be mindful, they have small water glasses. :)

We went to Paloma Blanca for the first time and we will definitely go there again. The food is top quality and I was pleased with the prices. The tables are far apart and we felt safe to eat indoors. The staff is friendly.
