Honestly, I was very disappointed. This restaurant appeared to be promising based on the reviews and menu. However, once we arrived for our reservation, the truth began to emerge. For starters, no one returned to our table after we were seated, so I had to go inside to find a waiter. Curtis, the waiter, was pleasant enough. We ordered a pallea for $34 because it contained octopi, shrimp, mussels, and squid. We also ordered two $12 cocktails and a $14 appetizer: bacon wrapped dates. By far the best part of the meal was the cocktails. We were surprised to see only three dates on the plate when the dates arrived. So 1 1/2 each... for $14. They were good, but for the price, we expected more. Then there was the pallea... for $34, we got mostly rice, frozen peas, two shrimp, two mussels, and ONE octopus. We spent more than $90 (including tip) for two drinks, one appetizer, and one entree with very little protein. It was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, I had to return inside just to inform the waiter that we needed our check.

So good! I used to be a nonbeliever in paella but Toro definitely changed my mind.I went with 4 friends for a birthday so we decided to go all out and order tapas, paella, and dessert. All of it was delicious and just the right amount to be filling but not overwhelming. I actually really like when tapas are on the smaller side so you can try more of them without filling up. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria for like $8 which was amazing!Because this was my first time at Toro, I decided to stick to the traditional dishes, however, I’m looking forward to visiting again and trying some of the pulpo dishes. ?

Settled on this place after our target restaurant was too busy. I shouldn't say "settled" though. The food here was good. I've only recently ventured into Tapas establishments, and the other one I had been to, in Las Vegas, was tastier. I felt that it sampling of dishes was good, but I did wish that there was a larger selection and range of variety. Don't get me wrong though. It was good. Perhaps the first just happened to be on a whole different level. We'll likely be back for the ambience and social setting this place offered.

Another great visit to Toro Kitchen. It wasn't very busy on Sunday at 6Pm and Fernando provided great service. I started off with a white Sangria spritz. It was so refreshing with temperatures near 100 degrees outside. They have an expansive patio and could not believe there were people dining outdoors. We started with Caesar salad and learned from the last visit to split it. They use a variety of lettuce which is a pleasant change from Romaine. The dressing has a nice garlic bute and there's plenty of shaved parmesan. For dinner my wife had the octopus ceviche and enjoyed it. We also had the meat and cheese sampler which is always good with three different meats and cheeses as well as olives, bread, ground mustard and fig jam. You can make delightful little sandwiches. The bacon wrapped dates are what we call "meat candy." Once again too full to partake in their delightful desserts.

We dined outdoors on a Thursday night, with advance reservations, and had a wonderful meal. The meat and cheese selections were delicious. Food was very good. Service was knowledgeable. The evening was extremely busy - to avoid getting many dishes at once, we will be mindful to order only one to two dishes at a time (sharing) or request staged plates.

Spanish restaurant in San Antonio Texas ….there is a cool outdoor area with live music … we ordered as tapas the mushrooms, the shrimps , the croquettes and the hamon …. they were delicious …and a paella which was exquisite …the big pitcher of sangria was tasty…We had a great time definitely a nice place to visit .

Toro is a great option for a date night or a night of culinary exploration. Tappas are the go to here. There are many many options to choose and each is pretty good. The paella is the only large dish option. Get as classic as possible, or their signature paella option. However, please make sure that your paella order includes the soccarat. That's the crispy bottom of the paella. Without it, you'll have a mushy rice base that's not traditional in paella. And besides, crispy is better for a texture play.

LOVED this place for a date night with the wife. Food is AMAZING. Waiter was authentic and also amazing, so good we tipped him more than our meal cost. Legit felt like we were in Spain. One exception, the staff at the front couldn't get their stuff together and had 3 to 4 parties backed up then suddenly seated us all at once. This was a little off putting to start the experience but likely a fluke and not a normal experience.

Our new favorite place. We only sit at the bar for Jason and Diego’s service at the bar. Don’t get me wrong, all of the service there is excellent. The food is phenomenal as well as the drinks. Hands down if you have not been here, you haven’t quite lived yet. Seriously, go ask Diego or Jason to make you a signature cocktail.

Love this place. The service is always on point and so is the food!
