We (my family) stopped in here looking for a fun time and good dinner. We were lucky enough to sit right on the edge of the river walk because the dining room was closed for a private event. The food was delicious and it was fun to sit by the river. The service was ok. Our server said she was new, which explained some of the funny things she did while serving, but overall she took good care of us.I had the enchiladas verdes and my wife enjoyed the cilantro chicken breast. She usually tastes my dinner and is disappointed with her choice, but this time she didn’t want me to have a taste of her’s because it was so good. Which it definitely was! The enchiladas were also delicious and the portions of everything were very generous! My two girls both got the kids Mac and cheese, that they promptly ate and loved. My only complaint would be that the quality of the chips didn’t match the quality of the salsa. The salsa was great! It had a good flavor and spiciness level. The chips seemed like the cheapest kind you would get from the grocery store that were stale. But, I still ate them like I was never going to see chips and salsa ever again in my life. The restrooms were clean and presentable, and from what I saw of the inside of the restaurant it seemed like it would be a fun place to enjoy.

We stopped by the Republic of Texas Restaurant Bar while waiting for our big group table in a nearby restaurant. We just stayed for a couple beers and drinks, but I could have easily stayed if I were on my own. Cool atmosphere, DIY style furnishings and their own brand of hot sauce made me interested in trying whatever they had on the menu. Would stop in again!

We asked to sit and have a cold drink in the middle of the afternoon. They sat us outside and just left us there for about 15 minutes. In the mean time many others were waited on around us. Finally Paul was assigned our table and was very friendly.I have eaten here before and was not impressed with the food or the fact that tables are greasy.

Went here for dinner with family. Everyone enjoyed their food. The drinks were good and cold too!! Our server was informative and had a great sense of humor. I really enjoyed the Brisket & Sausage Combo Plate. The others had different things from shrimp to burgers to chicken and they all said it was good.

The place next door had a wait, and had stopped taking names by 7pm Friday, 4/15. We asked about the waitlist at TRT-to our surprise, our party of 2 was immediately seated next to the river. Service was fast & friendly. Food was great. Chips & salsa 5, beef enchiladas 5, ribs were a 3(a bit fatty)- drinks -yellow rose & river water very good.

It's alright. Nothing special. They're like half "Texas take on Mexican, (Tex Mex if you will), and half American I guess. They have likea3 dip starter - chips and salsa and guac and queso. It wasn't bad, but the queso is just like melted Velveeta I'm pretty sure. It tasted ok. But you can definitely taste it. They should do like a white queso. As you can see by the plate, not a ton of food. Maybe they should just give smaller plates so it looks like it fills up the plate. The brisket was actually pretty good. The sausage though was pretty plain. Like I was hoping for a good link. But nah. The secret or special or whatever bbq isn't really all that good either. The brisket was better by itself. So like it's good tasting food. But also kinda just meh

******Not recommended ******Worst Mexican food ever had in life..one of the serving staff was drunk..They made us wait almost 45 minutes, and no one bothered to serve well. They didn't provide silverware even after serving the food.Food was lantern heated food, and gross. Felt pukish after eating. Swallowed the food anyhow as was so hungry. They overcharged the credit card******Not recommended ******

I got the brisket and sausage plate. The meat was so dry it was almost jerky. I got about a half sausage and 4oz of brisket with a small portion of potato salad and beans. It also came with coleslaw, but that was literally in one of the paper ketchup containers you grab at McDonald's, so no more than a single bite. Beans had no flavor. Potato salad was decent. My friends got the chicken sandwich (she ate two bites and decided not to have any more), ribs (he said they were the worst ribs he's ever had), fajitas (were so chewey they were almost inedible), and the enchiladas which looked like they'd been under a heat lamp for an hour. Nobody finished their food. We didn't complain, but we asked our server for the check and it took over 20 minutes until we saw him again (after being there for about an hour). I had to go grab him because he kept walking past us while ignoring us. Again, we never complained or did anything rude. But I had to find him and make him come to our table to give us our check so we could leave. The Riverwalk in general doesn't have great food. You're better off venturing a few miles out and finding something. But this place is probably the worst I've been to in the general vicinity.

great food and great atmosphere!

Incredible spot! My waitress, Barbra, was the BEST! So sweet, funny & very attentive. Another worker recommended a light ale to me and it was delish! And the food?? SO GOOD. Enchiladas Verdes were soooo yummy I’m already planning to stop here again before I fly home! Plus- perfect location! Sitting right on the water ya can’t beat it!
