We really enjoyed our food and experience at the Jerk Shack. We had the jerk tacos (pork and chicken) plus the Mac and cheese and banana pudding. The flavors were amazing and the sauces were very fun. I was surprised that it was chicken because the meat was so very flavorful. My favorite sauce was the one with chili pepper flakes in it that was brought out with the tacos. The Mac and cheese was great; the seasonings on top were unique and delicious. We also loved the banana pudding (like a layered banana cream pie in a cup) but were a bit blown away by its cost considering how inexpensive the ingredients are.All in all, delicious food. The price point is a little outside of our comfort zone (we shared a dish) but still appreciated everything we ate.
One of my FAVORITE restaurants of 2022. I was able to try this place and immediately fell in love with the Jerk Chicken and masala fries. Every side and food option I was able to try exploded with flavor. I highly recommend trying out this restaurant for a wonderful experience when it comes to taste and food.
Me and my husband had lunch Monday 05/23 and it was amazing! The jerk chicken and mac & cheese were delicious! We loved it so much we wanted to have it again 05/27 but this time have our kids try it. I regret it we spent 60 on food that was not the same. Just look at the difference of the macaroni it was watery and had a thick sticky consistency. I don’t know if they had someone different cooking today but it was not worth what we paid. UPDATE 05/28/22 The GM reached out to me personally after seeing my review. She did not ask me to change my review, but she took her time to reach out and make it right. That blew me away! I appreciated that she took complete ownership of the problem & gave me a partial refund. That’s someone who definitely cares about their customers & business. We will definitely be back!
We went there during Mother’s Day weekend. We think the food is overpriced and the food was okay. We ordered the braised oxtail (expensive and smaller portion than expected for $35…tasted okay), curry shrimp (okay), mixed chicken (Jerk and fried - okay) plate with Mac and cheese for sides (delicious), beef patties (pretty good). We will not come back.
I have tried this place 3 times and the 2 out of 3 times I tried it I was not good. I've had their curry shrimp and the first time I had it was at their old location and it was really good and I was very impressed. About a month later I had thr curry shrimp again and it made my stomach hurt and it actually tasted weird. Now my husband and I decided to try it together at their new location and we were not impressed. I had the jerk jack fruit and boy oh boy it was so spicy that was my mouth went numb. I could taste nothing but spiciness and a lack of flavor. I also ordered the cauliflower and it lacked flavor as well and very very greasy. My husband had the jerk chicken and he said the same thing no flavor just very spicy and he loves spicy food. He also had the honey butter rolls and they wer very dry. I would not go back to this place nor receive it to anyone.
People. You need to eat here. Like it should be the first thing you do this week! This place is FIRE. ??? The owners are brilliant. And the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Order everything you can. It’s so worth it. We had a wonderful time, and they were so friendly.
Had the pork ribs plate, with mac n cheese and masala fries....ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I can't say enough how uniquely flavored the food is and how welcoming the atmosphere is. I've read comments on how expensive the food is but I cannot even begin to think in comparison to what....???? There's absolutely no place with such a unique menu and delicious ingredients. You definitely get what you pay for in my opinion. Will definitely be back!
I seriously cannot express how freaking amazing the Mac and cheese was. The ribs were delicious too but that mac and cheese!!!! I have never had Mac and cheese so good anywhere. Definitely worth it being on the pricey side.
I came all the way From Fayette-Nam. It did not disappoint!!! Great portion sizes. It was the juiciest fried chicken.. I ever had!! The jerk chicken was the BOMB! I loved the restaurant… like I just sat there for hours. The Mac and cheese was out of this world!! Kudos to the Chef! Love the decor. Definitely going back for seconds and thirds!!
We decided to check them out since their food truck came to our neighborhood and the food was legit!Walk in and the music is bumpin, its nice and clean and new! We walk up and we're greeted right away and we give the nice young lady our order, we ordered the Jerk Chicken and the Oxtail plate and two drinks and two meat pies, and bam $78 with tip!! (Oxtail plate was $35)Take our seat and enjoying the ambiance and within ten minutes our food arrived! The gentleman who brought out our food stopped and explained what was what and what the sauces were for. So we dig in, my Jerk Chicken was moist and flavorful! Came with some spicy BBQ sauce which was great! The oxtail that my wife ordered was big and beautiful! But as she ate it the oxtail was pretty tough like it hadn't been stewed long enough.All in all, we really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back to try other tings as they say at the restaurant! :)
