Tasteless, one word absolutely tasteless. Hair in food which owner shredded off saying it’s natural hair can be in food. Curry was like running water. No taste in any food except just one dish. Desert ( gulab jamun) was so cold that its sugar had crystalised and it was crunchy gulab jamun. Never had that bad Indian food.

Delicious. If you're looking for a new Indian eatery, you should try this one. Best Tika Masala chicken I've had in a long time. Small, clean, and welcoming resturant. Attentive and friendly service. They proudly display multiple well deserved KMOL News 4 Blue Plate awards. Very surprised and delighted by the delicious buffet. Good quality, "home made" food. Fresh and chewy naan. The naag paneer was creamy and full of paneer chuncks. Perfectly cooked, crunchy, stuffed potato and pea stuffed samosas. (I could eat their samosas all day.) They also have an á la carte menu and offer beer and wine.

The staff is friendly and serve your food hot and fresh with a smile. If the buffet is more your style then help yourself. There are plenty of choices for most Indian tastes. If want plain curd just ask. Enjoy $$$

This restaurant changed its name from Bombay Hall to Tandoor Palace about four years ago--same ownership, same menu. I submitted a name change request to Tripadvisor. It's not the prettiest storefront on the block but it makes up for that with its food. The former name, Bombay Hall, was always a misnomer for me, having lived in India for several years. The food is that of the Punjab with a nod to Rajastan. That doesn't mean it's bad, just not what one would be expecting if going by the name alone. As you can see from my photos there is a sufficient variety of dishes. My test of a buffet, Indian or otherwise, is to place samples of various dishes on my plate and taste them in rapid succession. Is each very distinct from each other or is that distinction muted? Unfortunately, at Tandoor Palace, the latter is the case. Don't get me wrong, the dishes are quite good, just not good enough to warrant five stars. But hey, four stars is a great rating in anyone's book. Okay, here's what I tried. (Ready?) Vegetable samosas, mixed pakora, fish pakora, Chicken 65, tandoori chicken wings, raita, chutney, mixed pickles, aloo gobi, curried meatballs, chicken tikka masala, vegetable biryani, dal, naan, papadum, saag paneer, khir, mango pudding, semolina cake and gulab jamun. (Whew!) Yes, for you, Gentle Reader, I forced myself to . . . who am I kidding; I wanted it, I ate it, okay? There were some standouts. The dal was by far the winner. Yes, dal--that simple, ubiquitous thin lentil soup. Pour it over white rice, crumble in papadum and it breathes forth the heart of India. In my years there I ate it almost every day and never tired of it. Add a dab of chutney or a piece of pickle--heaven! The dal was followed very closely by the samosas (had one on each plate and could have eaten more). They were filled with the usual potatoes and peas but the flavor was anything but usual--some of the best I've had. The tandoori chicken wings deserve a mention for their deep, smokey flavor; they were moist and succulent. Also, the saag paneer was quite good, very smooth, but lacking the spiciness I like in the dish; this, however is a personal preference. The one item that was a bit off-putting was the naan. The flavor was fine and they were generously brushed with butter or ghee but it was the texture that took me aback. Imagine a flat a brioche with that chewy-spongy consistency. Did that stop me from eating it after the first bite? Not on your life! A word must be said about the staff. They are kind, efficient and helpful. Glasses are kept full, plates are cleared quickly and the restaurant as a whole is kept extremely clean. Evidence of this is reflected by their health inspection scores; over the years it has remained a constant 100%! Can't get better than that.

I do not like to review restaurants like this negatively because the fact is we need a lot more of them in town, and I do not want to cast a negative light. The service was fine, but the server sat down at our table while he took our order, which seemed a bit odd. Perhaps he was not well. You could tell almost no one ordered food in the restaurant because there was a sizable buffet. We ordered butter chicken, paneer butter masala, and both came with rice. We ordered regular and garlic naan. And Mango lassi, bulbs jamun, and rasmalai. The mango lassi was a hit with the kids. The jamun was fine. The regular and garlic naan was fine. The rest was not good. I would not say bad, but it just was not good. When we wanted to pack up our food, we had to pack it ourselves. And when the total was nearly $100 we were pretty shocked. We certainly ordered a lot, but we were still pretty surprised that it was about $20 per person, and two of the people shared their food. So more like $25 a person. based on the pricing and the food, we, regrettably, will not be going back.

All this restaurant's positive reviews are well earned! Everything was delicious!! Even the rice was just the right consistency. The portion size is also pretty big, spent $20 and came away with easily enough for leftovers or to share with another person. Highly recommend this place

Was greeted kindly upon walking in by the sweetest lady. Felt right at home. The buffet was hot, fresh, and had plenty of flavor and variety. It was also very clean. The naan was also served fresh and hot and they kept it coming. The service was five stars. Will def make this a regular spot.

Our new favorite Indian restaurant in San Antonio. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The buffet is always fresh and full. With the buffet you get free fresh naan. Even though it's a buffet I would say it's a good date night restaurant

Absolutely awesome Indian food.

This is currently my new go to place for Indian buffet . I find that each Indian buffet does something better than another so I won't say that this is better than any other but that they do a couple of dishes better than the others and that is what I am currently in the mode for. For me they do 3 dishes really well but all the items on the line are tasty so you can't go wrong depending on your preferences. The absolute only criticism I will give is that the Chi tea isn't that great and I usually just order the water whereas at other Indian restaurants I almost always have the tea. In all fairness their tea may be more authentic but I can't say for certain, all I can say is that while it's not bad I just don't prefer it.Edit:I went there and after a long while of not ordering their tea, I ordered some. It is actually quite good especially when I added some sugar. They let you add the sugar to taste and I think I like that better, now if they only gave me some milk to add too.
