Best sushi in San Antonio!!! Their friendly and knowledgeable staff makes for such a great experience. i live 35 mins away but it's worth the drive everytime!

The Asian lady working there was so friendly, and the food was prepared fresh. It may cost a little more, but I’m telling you it’s worth the try. Authentic style food.

Food is always fresh, and the owners have always been really nice and welcoming. They recognize me and my boyfriend and even ask us where we’ve been when we haven’t visited in awhile. The dumplings are fried to a golden crisp, and their spider roll is my favorite. Anytime I’ve called our order in ahead and we’ve taken longer than expected to get there, the owner would keep the dumplings hot and fresh for me, knowing they’re my favorite! This place is always my favorite place to eat at for sushi

The staff was nice and really welcoming. Staff gets a 4. Food was ok (3). When ordering, you are sat at a table and then you look over the menu. Then you get in line to order. If you just want water it will be in water bottle form. I always venture for a new sushi restaurant and I've reviewed inexpensive to majorly expensive so as this one was near our area I figured we would try it. Whenever I have sushi, I always get a chirashi if it's offered. It's a large bowl of fish and things depending on where you go with rice under it. This one was good. Quick call outs, the fish cuts where all over the place. Some really thin some generous. The cucumbers had an odd color to them but they were pickled and tasted better than they looked. The octopus in the chirashi was underwhelming. It was 2 pieces but one piece was tiny and the other piece was like a sliver. I had to wonder what they were thinking when serving it but I did eat the one tiny piece (You can see the portion on the upper right hand side of the picture in-between the imitation crab and ginger). My husband ordered the soft shell crab for an appetizer and I ordered us some miso soups. My husband didn't care for the crab, I liked it. He thought the soup was not hot, it was warm and I ate mine and the rest of his. His roll, the voodoo roll had a good spice to it. I ordered a side of spicy mayo and it was pretty spicy. Haven't had a spicy mayo in all the sushi places that I have gone to that actually had a kick to it. I liked it.

Atmosphere: A delightful little restaurant that brings a taste of the Japanese dining experience to the heart of Texas. A small but welcoming bar with plenty of tables and all the decorations to bring the aesthetics of Japan to Texas.Service: The service was excellent and extremely friendly and if you are ever unsure what to eat all you have to do is ask. on the bar the Cheifs are happy to have small talk while working or answer food questions and the wait staff are quick and responsive. One thing to note non alcoholic drinks are self service via bottled drinks at the front of the bar so grab one before sitting down to enjoy your meal.Food: I was completely take by supprise when I found a delightful seasonal Chirashizushi served full of fresh high grade seafood and arranged beautifuly for my enjoyment. In addition while not on the menu the restaurant does serve sushi in the traditional makizushi and nigirizushi styles all you have to do is ask. Conclusion: Sushiholic is a great way to experience a Japanese sushi bar with a simple menu and great food. The staff were absolutely delightful and had plenty of suggestions on what Sake(Rice wine) to try and how it pairs with the sushi. As well as, being friendly and extremely attentive to the customers through the restaurant creating a great friendly environment.(Family friendly - Yes)(Take out friendly -Yes)(Vegan friendly - not sure but there were a few items just ask)(Don't like seafood - No problem they have a wide selection of non seafood Japanese favorites)

I didn't get his name but the sushi chef here is amazing!! This was my first time here, I called ahead to see if they had cooked sushi because I'm pregnant and I can't have raw. The lady and gentlemen who work here are the sweetest people, they gave me really great recommendations, I ended up going with the spider roll. I am definitely coming back for the delicious food and wonderful conversation ?

This place was AWFUL. Walked in and not even so much as a hello, and out of the 8 or so tables in there 4 of them were covered in dirty dishes. Gross. They don’t take your order at your table you have to go up to the counter, and they don’t even have glasses of water, they make you buy bottles of water. Thought we’d at least give the food a chance and it was bad, rice was stale. I regret coming here. Can’t believe it has such good reviews.

It was recommended by my son who freauently visits here. I'm very critical when it comes to Japanese cuisine as I am from Japan and authenticity is important to me. I had Chirashi and it was perfectly portioned. Tried their Takoyaki and fried oyster. Loved them both as they cooked them perfectly. Loved their koinobori (flying carp) decorations.

Lots of flavor, high quality fish. It's not really a womder thay they have 2 News 4 WOAI blue plate awards. The spider roll (far left) was well balanced in both textrue and flavor. The Rainbow Roll (middle) had a vibrant array of fresh flavors. The shrimp tempura roll (far right) was by far my favorite. The eel sauce was a phenomenal addition to the crisp texture and flavor of the shrimp.I think what really sells the sushi here for me is that the base mixture doesn't include cream cheese by default, which at other establishments is often overpowering and detracts from the flavor of the fish.11/10 on quality, and flavor. The staff was also very friendly and engaging.(Side note) It's a nice and home-ish establishment with a quaint bar and a few tables. I wouldn't call it quite a hole in the wall, but it definitely isn't a ls large as other establishments either. I think this really lends to the atmosphere while eating and conversing with the chef at the bar. Definitely a personable experience.

Ordered through DoorDash and my order was all combined and Missing order. Apparently if you order different types of sushi’s you gotta ask for separate container for each or else they put them all together. Also they only sent one set of utensils. Not enough soy sauce.
