I usually have a great experience here, but this time not so much. I’ll start with the good stuff: The service was exceptional. Wait time was almost zero.Now the not-so-good. I decided to try the Yummy Yummy roll. It has unagi (eel) on top. The extra stuff you see at the bottom right corner of my plate in the photo is the bones I spit out. I didn’t complain about it, but when the server asked if I wanted a box I told her that I lost my appetite bc the eel wasn’t deboned. She immediately ran back to the sushi chef, who apparently told her that the eel always has bones. So she took it off my check but warned me not to order it again here. I definitely will not.But seriously? It always has bones?? I have eaten a LOT of sushi, and a lot of unagi in my life, to include in Tokyo. I have never had to spit out bones before- especially not more than one. I tried two pieces just to check, and both had bones. Then I tried a piece where I took the eel off, but all the flavor was in the eel and the sauce on the eel. So it wasn’t good and I totally lost my appetite.Server handled it very well, but ew. Not a good look. I can’t de-bone anything, but I’m not a chef. Sushi chef needs to learn how to de-bone an eel.I will definitely return to this restaurant, but not ordering that again! Prob sticking to veggie rolls, just in case this chef thinks that salmon always has bones in it too.
Very delicious if your looking for fresh sushi this is your place!! I ordered 3 rolls just for myself!! It's a bit pricey but it's worth it!
The food is good, but the wait on the weekend isn’t worth it. I placed a delivery order at 6:20 on Saturday evening. After ordering, it stated that my expected delivery time would be between 50-60 minutes. It is now 8:30 and my food hasn’t even left the store. I called to see what if there was an issue and the phone rang for close to five minutes before someone finally answered. I was then told that delivery orders typically take 2.5 hours or longer on Saturdays. I definitely would have chosen a different restaurant if I had known this from the beginning. It is very unfortunate when you place an order that you expect to receive in a hour, pay for the order and then wait for 3 hours to get your food.
Added asparagus to California roll and the color is so off, I am not sure what they did to it. Crawfish dynamite was stone cold it appears they forgot to put it under the broiler and it was being held in the refrigerator we had to heat it. The yellowtail and sashimi sampler was good. I am not sure we will order delivery at 7:45pm again. Not much care was taken in some items tonight.
Our favorite restaurant in San Antonio! We love their “ secret menu” Be sure and ask them for it! Highly recommend LRI roll, Thanksgiving roll, “yummy, yummy” roll, Godzilla roll, and their signature, Cosimo roll!
As most know, Sushi Zushi is a good spot to go if you’re craving some sushi. The stone oak location has great service. The prices are a little steep and the layout of this particular restaurant is not that appealing. But alas, the sushi is good.
Disappointed in the service or lack of service received. I placed an order online which stated my order would be ready within the hour, I ordered around 745 expecting pick up by 840. I head to the restaurant about 15 minutes early to wait in the case they finished early, instead I was told the order was going to be an additional HOUR long wait, and I had the option to cancel my order or wait …another hour!The staff member that assisted me was professional and nice about it, but the fact that I had already paid about $60 for my food under a somewhat false advertisement, drove to this location, and was told I would have to wait until 930 (2hours) for my order to be ready was just bad business. I wasn’t even offered a coupon for the inconvenience or any sort of compensation other than I’ll get a refund within the next 3-5 business days. That’s great thank you!
What once used to be a favorite sushi place has became a huge disappointment. Over one hour waiting time when the restaurant is about 25% full. Hostess told me to get the food and the beers to go, but the waiting time for that was over 45 minutes.. That was a good joke. Lack of management here.
Exelente comida pero el servicio un poco lento
They were very busy when we arrived and seemed under-staffed. In addition to the 40 minute wait to be seated, it took an additional hour to receive our food after ordering. The waitress also kept forgetting items I had ordered. Food quality was good, they made sure to bring the hot items out as soon as they were ready so that they weren't cold by the time we got our sushi rolls. The waitress was very friendly and made good recommendations on drink options.
