We booked a reservation. We were seated immediately. The serving sizes were large. The server was attentive but not annoying. The GM stopped by to check on us and made recommendations on sauces for the fried chicken. The only bummer was they ran out of the fried apple pie. We will be back.
Food wasn't all that. Not good e ough to want to return. Food overfried and overly crispy.
The whole experience was great. If I had to rate anything of concern it would be the fact that I looked at the menu prior to coming in and dining and saw there was shrimp and other shellfish. My daughter is allergic to shellfish so I made sure to put that in the comment section of the reservation. I would have liked for that information to make it to my waitress. Nonetheless I reiterated it to her once we got to the restaurant and all was well. I knew my daughter would want the burger and fries and wanted to make sure the fries would not be cooked in the same oil as the shellfish. But such is life when you dine at establishments and have allergies of concern.
We had the rotisserie chicken which was cooked perfectly. The biscuits are crazy good too!
My wife and I came to San Antonio for our one year anniversary and our last night we chose Southerleigh for our dinner. The food was sooooo amazing! I got the fried chicken which was fried to perfection with a side of Mac n cheese and collard greens the whole meal was good! My wife had their seafood boil and she loved her meal as well! The portion sizes are huge they definitely arenât stingy with the food! Our serving was so welcoming and helpful with any questions we had. We told him it was our first time in Texas and our anniversary, he got us desert and champagne for free! We were very thankful! Overall this place gets a 10/10 from us!

Usually the chicken is very juicy and delicious but today was very dry almost not edible.
Making chicken hot and brown is not the same as cooking it. We enjoyed our visit but I was not impressed with the quality of my meal. This restaurant hit me as being the product of a committee tasked with creating a food-based business.
We changed our reservation from 4 to 5 and open table did not communicate with the restaurant. The manager made it work and gave us a table for 5 nice guy great service!
