We stopped at the San Antonio Airport Smoke Shack to have a drink and snack before our flight. The pinto bean nachos were excellent…one of the best nachos I’ve ever had. We ordered a turkey sandwich and fries to eat on the plane, so we will see how that goes. My point of complaint is that the drink prices aren’t labeled at the cash register. This is kind of shady. I ordered a glass of the Cupcake sauvignon blanc. $22! WTF?!? Then, my husband reminded me that I had complained about this before. Six months ago, we flew out of SAT. The same glass was $15…still outrageous. But I’m not sure how the Smoke Shack can justify a $7 increase in six months. Ridiculous.
We had been in Texas for 4 days, and had yet to eat any BBQ. We searched various websites (including TripAdvisor) looking for good BBQ in the area. We settled on Smoke Shack, and made our way to the restaurant. I am sooo glad we chose this place. There was a short wait for a table, but the food was scrumptious. We had the mac & cheese, the Brisket Grilled Cheese sandwich, ribs, and sliced brisket. Everything was wonderful, but the Brisket Grilled Cheese was out of this world. It may have been the best sandwich I've ever had in my life! I would definitely return, and will recommend this to anybody I know who will be in San Antonio.
Everything the family of 4 ordered was great. There is a reason that Guy Fieri went there on Triple D. You cant go wrong here. Seating could be tight at busy times.
Stopped while in museum area for late lunch. Out of what we ordered so generously gave us substitute. Friendly service. Delicious. Great place

We had a long wait at the San Antonio airport and decided to give this place a try so we halfed a brisket sandwich which came with a side of pinto beans and we added a side of coleslaw. I just don't get the naked BBQ thing. I want my BBQ swimming in warm sauce not a bottle of cold BBQ sauce I have to squeeze on as if it were catsup. That being said, the sandwich was alright but the coleslaw was like eating just raw cabbage and the beans were watery and filled with black pepper. Guess we will take a pass on this place in future. The staff were friendly and professional.
Was in areas and figured to try this place out. Was really impressed. quantity was incredible. food was great. not huge fan of sauce but meat really did not need it.
We tried the chicken, brisket, ribs, and pulled pork and it was all so delicious. Service was awesome.

This was what our family envisioned for ‘Texas BBQ’, and the Smoke Shack exceeded our expectations. The staff were welcoming, friendly and made it an amazing experience for us before we even got our food. The tray of food, piled high with the selection of meats and sides were a feast for the eyes and the palette and so reasonably priced. Fantastic value and great quality! My family is already begging me to take them back for another meal before our trip is done. Loved it!
