Could be higher rating if better managed. Several empty tables and making people wait outside in 100 degree temperature. If more than 20 cars in the lot go somewhere else. They can’t handle more than that.
First time here, will not be my last time. Came in on lunch time was seated promptly and attended to so quickly. Ordered spicy tuna ? rolls, came with 8 and with sides of soup/salad. Overall great experience and very affordable, will be coming back to try their ramen ?.
I was really excited to try this place, I saw it had 4.4 on Google reviews and thought WHY NOT.We were quickly greeted and sat at a nearby table. The restaurant has some really cool interior designs and details. We were served water and a couple of miso soups. After staring at the sushi menu, we decided to go with our server's recommendation for spicy rolls. Pictured is only two and they were unfortunately our least favorite out of the four. The sushi rolls are huge - lots of rice and the insides (jalapeños/cucumbers) aren't chopped very small so be prepared for some huge servings and it falling apart before you can eat it.The Dynamic roll was really underwhelming... the tuna was old and hard and it pretty much looked like chorizo or old stuffing. I took a bite to be optimistic and I was really sad to be disappointed. While our server was nice and quick with bringing water refills, she kinda disappeared after serving our rolls so I didn't really have a chance to ask for another roll to eat. We boxed up our leftovers. We did have 1 roll that was amazing, I can't remember the name but it was crab in the middle, with spicy crab on top with crunchy crumbs and spicy mayo.We definitely want to give it another go since sushi rolls are so fickle to find regardless but I think I'll stick to the Yelp reviews and go for a bento.
1st time, wait time was 20-25 minutes. Miso soup and salad was delicious. We ordered 5 rolls and the spicy edamame. Rolls were good but needed more pressed they were breaking apart. Overall very nice atmosphere.
As always this place is delicious! It's my absolute go to for sushi. There are so many options and the price for the amount of food is great!
Excellent food, very affordable, I love the atmosphere here and the nigiri! ????They have quite a selection of food i was very impressed!
Love their sushi, always great service, great price for the portions that you get! I love love this place and will always recommend!? plus the sushi comes with a side of miso soup and salad!Definitely one of my favorite spots in San Antonio! ?P.S. Also someone told me that the husband’s owner carves the designs of the wooden plates where they serve the sushi so I find that pretty awesome! Would love to know if it’s true! Because I love the designs!
There are many mixed reviews for this place which concerned me, but I still wanted to give them a fair shot. One reviewer said that the sushi was too big and I thought how can sushi be too big!? But to my surprise the serving sizes are pretty big which is great if you are looking for that. I feel that the taste suffered because of that. A lot of the fish used in the rolls seemed like they had no flavor and kinda bland. By no means am i a sushi expert, but I’ve eaten enough to know there should be something there. I mean the whole point of a roll is to enhance the main fishes flavor, not hide it. Another thing i will say is that the rolls are not bad by any means, but if you’re looking for a “wow, this is delicious!” Im not sure youll find that here. Service was great and prices for what you get is great too.
THE BEST SUSHI IN SAN ANTONIO! At least that I have found. Their pricing is great / reasonable. Food is made quickly and the portions are BIG! Every roll comes with a small bowl of miso soup and a small salad. Delicious!
So delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and funny. Definitely recommend the UTSA sushi roll:)
